Sterilization
NOTE!
The sterilization of the video lens always follows the successful cleaning and dis-
infection.
WARNING!
Sterilization without prior cleaning and disinfecting is not allowed and may en-
danger the user, the patient, as well as third parties.
NOTE!
Do not use hot air sterilization.
7.1
Packaging
You can use standardized packaging material. The bag must be large enough for
the lens to prevent the seal from being stressed.
NOTE!
Make sure the product is sealed without wrinkles.
7.2
Moist heat sterilization
NOTE!
Perform the sterilization with moist heat (EN ISO 17556) in an autoclave with
fractionated pre-vacuum according to national requirements.
• Temperature retention time:
4 minutes at 134 °C (273 °F)
4 minutes at 132 °C (270 °F) (USA only)
18 minutes at 134 °C (273 °F)
• Drying time: 10-20 minutes
• Maximum sterilization temperature: 138 °C (280 °F)
WARNING!
Danger of burns! Video lenses are hot after steam sterilization. Allow sufficient
time for cooling to avoid burns.
NOTE!
When sterilizing several instruments with one sterilization cycle, make sure not
to exceed the max. load of the sterilizer.
