3.10 ROW MARKER DISK ADJUSTMENT
The row marker is a machine that traces a reference line parallel
to the tracks of the tractor on the ground.
Once the tractor has completed its run and it has turned around,
follow the reference row with one of the front wheels (Fig. 21) or
with the centre of the tractor (Fig. 22) according to the row marker
employed.
The row marker will continue to trace a parallel reference line
during its progress down each row.
The inversion of the row-marker arms is moved by means of a
control on the seeder. The operation will therefore be manual if
carried out by the tractor with the lever device (Fig. 25) or automatic,
with the movement of the (Fig. 26) hydraulic controlled lift, (Fig.
27).
3.10.1 MANUAL AND AUTOMATIC ROW-MARKER CONTROL
To bring the row marker arm into working position, proceed as
follows:
1) Unlatch the split pin (A) and remove the bolt (B) (Fig. 23).
2) Lower the row marker arm by rotating the left arm clockwise
and the right arm counter-clockwise about 60° and lock it in
position by placing the bolt (B) in the lower slot as shown in
Figure 24.
The row marker arm can also be equipped with a safety device
that protects it against hits from obstructions that could damage
it. To do this, remove screw M12 (F) and replace it with an M5
screw (E) as shown in Figure 23. With the M5 screw in place, if an
obstacle is encountered, the screw is sheared so the arm can
rotate backwards without being damaged.
Adjust the length of the cables so that during work they stay
taut (G Fig. 24). Lock the row marker disk arms in a vertical
position during transport by using the pegs (Fig. 23 A, B).
