3.13 LOADING PLATFORM
Use of the loading (or hopper inspection rif.3 fig. 5) platform is
only consented when the planting unit is at a stand still, the wheels
and safety (Fig. 39) foot must be standing on level and stable
ground (preferably cement). Ensure that the safety foot has been
secured using the appropriate security pin. There may be one or
more safety feet on the planting unit depending on the model.
3.14 ADJUSTMENT
The tractor must be positioned in alignment with the tractor
wheels. To adjust their position, unscrew the nuts (A, Fig. 40)
position the track removers and lock the nuts. To adjust the depth
of the trace-breaking teeth, unscrew the locknuts (B, Fig. 40) and
the screw (C, Fig. 40) after having adjusted, tighten the screws
and the locknuts.
3.15 SEED DISCHARGE FROM THE HOPPER
Proceed as follows to discharge the seeds from the hopper:
- To lower the rack, use the lever (A Fig. 41): slightly pushing
sideways, shift the position of the lever pin from (1) to (2).
- Release the seed-test trays (Fig. 42) and position them beneath
the seed discharge mouths.
- for large quantities, it is advisable to use the crank on the gear
shift to rotate the agitator shaft to better control seed flow into
the bins. To empty small amounts of seed, shift the doser lever
beyond position 9 (Fig. 43).
- After seed discharge has been completed, return the trays,
rack, and dosage adjustment lever to their initial work positions.
3.16 BEFORE STARTING WORK
IMPORTANT
Before starting work, lift the supporting feet. Before parking the
seeder, lower the supporting feet (Fig. 39).
3.17 DURING WORK
The seeder has been studied to allow a high sowing speed,
compatible with the type and surface of the ground.
Bear in mind that a variation in tractor speed does not lead to a
corresponding variation in seed sown per hectare.
Always work at a constant speed. Sudden changes in speed will
result in an uneven distribution of the product.
Maintain e seeding speed compatible with type and cultivation
of the soil in order to avoid breakages or damage.
At the start of each new passage, the machine travels for approx
a metre before the seeds reach the seed-planting furrow through
the delivery tubes. Vice versa, at the end of the passage, it
discharges all the seeds present in the delivery tubes. This should
always be borne in mind to obtain a good final result.
Always respect the following rules for successful sowing:
- Keep the tractor hydraulic lifting unit in its lowest position.
- every now and then check that the coulters are not blocked with
vegetable residues or clogged with soil that retains the seeds.
- check that the distributors are free from foreign bodies, that
may have accidentally entered the hopper. They could compro-
mise regular operation.
