6. REUSING THE AIRBAG SYSTEM AFTER INFLATION
The Off-ROAD airbag is equipped with "double triggering" technology. It is designed
to be able to inflate twice without having to replace the cartridges. Each cartridge
provides separate inflation. The electronic card will automatically recognize which
cartridge is full in order to trigger it. By default, the cartridge on the left triggers first
when the 2 installed cartridges are full. You can change the used cartridge at any
time, without waiting for the second one to be triggered.
After an inflation, please check the condition of the airbag (airbag visible,
important tear, abrasion,... ). The airbag will gradually deflate by itself in a few minutes.
Damage to the airbag can be detected by a very rapid deflation (less than 5
seconds). If you have any problems or doubts about the condition of the airbag,
contact your dealer or Helite customer service at sav@helite.com.
CAUTION
• Improper reconditioning of the airbag could prevent it from working properly. You
must carefully follow the order of the steps below.
• The airbag must be reconditioned in a clean environment (away from dust, not
on the floor, etc).
• After an inflation, the cartridge is pierced and therefore empty. You must not
reuse it. It must be replaced by a new Helite cartridge with the same reference.
• Never use your airbag with a cartridge removed! The cartridges ensure the seal
with the airbag.
• Persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or minors wearing
the airbag should always be accompanied by a responsible adult when repacking it
to avoid any mistakes.
HOW TO RECONDITION THE AIRBAG ?
You will need the airbag and two new Helite cartridges of the same reference (OFF
ROAD 50 cc).
CAUTION
In order to prevent foreign bodies from entering the airbag during reconditioning,
do not leave the airbag without a cartridge and prefer to place the airbag on the
motorcycle rather than on the ground.
1 The airbag has just inflated. The electronics automatically switch to the
second cartridge. If it is new, a green LED flashes. A 3 min delay is activated
before the airbag is operational. If the LED flashes red, all the cartridges are
used. They must be replaced before to use the airbag again.
As soon as you are safe, you can remove the airbag. Check the condition of the
airbag, especially in case of impact with a sharp or pointed object : tear, hole.
