Cleaning the outside of the machine
Before carrying out any cleaning opera-
tions, set the machine to the "O" energy
level, (machine switched off and plug
removed from the mains).
CAUTION: never use solvents,
chlorine-based products or abrasives.
Cleaning the work area: remove the work-
top, lifting it up from the front and sliding it
out. Remove the water collection dish
underneath and clean everything with hot
water and cleansers.
Cleaning the external surfaces: To clean
the panels, use a soft, damp cloth.
Cleaning the delivery unit and the
milk circuit
By means of buttons
WASHING option, then press the ENTER
button to confirm. The display will visuali-
se the first type of washing option: FULL.
By means of buttons and
type of washing desired. The possible
options are:

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

- FULL (washes both the coffee unit and
the milk spout at the same time)
- MILK SPOUT (washes the milk circuit
and lasts about 240 seconds)
- UNIT (washes the coffee unit and both
the pump and the coffee delivery sole-
noid valve are activated on and off; this
function is activated 15 times)
To wash the coffee delivery unit go to the
UNIT option and carry on as follows:
- Insert a cleansing tablet through the
door located between the coffee campa-
ne and placed on the upper cup holding
board.
- use the ENTER button to confirm the
UNIT WASHING option; the machine
will automatically start a washing cycle.
The washing cycle consists in delivery of
hot water alternated with pauses; the
whole cycle lasts for 15 fifteen single hot
water deliveries (about 4 minutes).
Repeat the operation without cleansing
tablet, so as to completely eliminate any
cleansing tablet residues.
We recommend carrying out a
WASHING CYCLE at least once a day
to keep the delivery section clean.

Remember not to interrupt a washing
cycle using detergent tablets once
started, otherwise detergent residues

The CAFFETTERIA ITALIANA, version
XC is also predisposed for washing the
milk circuit. To activate the milk spout
washing function, carry on as follows:
- Remove the milk spout from the contai-
ner and place it in a container filled with
water and its specific detergent.
- With either the "U" or "T" key inserted,
go to the UNIT WASHING option and
press ENTER.
At this point a suction phase will be activa-
ted to cleanse the tubes, the milk foamer
and the various solenoid valves.
Once the suction and cleansing cycle is
terminated, repeat the operation substitu-
ting hot water in place of the detergent to
eliminate any residues in the tubes.
On the other hand, by selecting the FULL
WASHING option, both the coffee unit
washing and the milk circuit washing func-
tions are activated with the methods
described above.
Activating washing operations at the
end of the day or every time the machi-
ne is to be turned off for a period, is
highly recommended.
