Washing the coffee holder
CAUTION: RISK OF BURNS OR
SCALDING
All the washing operations must be car-
ried out by means of the special brush
provided to protect the operator from pos-
sible contact with hot elements.
- Set the machine to the "0" energy state.
- Open the control panel
- Remove any coffee remains deposited
along the sides of the coffee holder.
Regenerating filter resin
(To be carried out by qualified operators)
To avoid scaling deposits in the boiler and
in the heating exchangers, the filter must
always be kept efficient. Therefore, the
ionic resins must be regularly regenerated
at the established times.
Regeneration times are established accor-
ding to the quantity of coffee delivered
daily and the hardness of the water utili-
zed.
Generally speaking, regeneration times
can be calculated on the basis of the
reported program, which is relative to filter
types KD/8, KD/12 (fig. 10).

Regeneration: Once regeneration times
have been established, carry on as fol-
lows:
- set the machine to the "0" energy level
(that is switched off and unplugged) and
place a recipient of the capacity of at
least 2 litres underneath the tube label-
led "E" (fig. 11/A)
- turn levers "C" and "D" from left to right
(fig. 11/B)
- take the cap off by unscrewing the knob
labelled "G"
- introduce normal kitchen salt (1 kg for
model KD/8; 1,5 kg for model KD/12)
- put the cap back on and reposition only
lever "C" moving it towards the left (fig.
11/C) and allowing tube "F" to discharge
the salty water until it has been elimina-
ted and the water becomes fresh again
(about half and hour)
- reposition lever "D" towards the left (fig.
11/D)
