3.2 Functional description

3.2.1 Dräger Polytron 6700 IR WL
®
The Dräger Polytron 6700 IR WL is a fixed gas warning device with infrared
sensor for monitoring hydrocarbons. The gas warning device includes a
repeater function for forwarding data from other WirelessHART
devices.
The device either uses batteries or a wired power supply.
The gas warning device is integrated into a WirelessHART
system manager, access point and controller. The Dräger REGARD
PLC, for example, are used as controllers. Ranges between access point and
gas detector can be up to 500 m in a free field.
Operation and configuration
The general device status is signaled via the LED display.
The Dräger PolySoft configuration software is used for operation and
configuration. Connection to PolySoft is via the WirelessHART
®
built-in Bluetooth interface.
