During the proof test and the bump test, always check whether the openings of
the weather cap are freely accessible and clean them if necessary (see
"Cleaning the infrared measuring cell", page 56).
The length of the test intervals depends on the respective regional normative
requirements.
During adjustment, the zero point is always adjusted first and then the
sensitivity of the sensor.
To ensure proper operation, never calibrate the sensitivity before the zero point
is set. If these operations are performed in the wrong order, the adjustment is
faulty.
WARNING
Incorrect adjustment!
Incorrect adjustment can lead to inaccurate measured values.
► Before an adjustment, always check the test gas quality and the correct
target gas settings in PolySoft.
► Before an adjustment, always check if there is not a warning
"ATTENUATED_OPTICAL_BEAM" from the device (Bit 7 (see "Command
48: Reading additional device status", page 52)). If necessary, clean the
measuring cell (see "Cleaning the infrared measuring cell", page 56).
11.1
Test gases
Different test gases are used depending on the type of test or adjustment.
The zero gas is used to adjust the zero value. If the ambient air is free of
interfering impurities and measured gases, it can be used as zero gas.
Otherwise, nitrogen (N
) is used.
2
The test gas is used to check the measurement accuracy and sensor sensitivity.
Test gas is a known concentration of the measured gas diluted with clean air
and nitrogen.
The following table lists recommended test gases:

Preparing the test gas supply
The test gas must be supplied without pressure. Dräger recommends a flow
rate of 0.5 to 1 L/min.
WARNING
Health hazard due to test gas
Inhaling test gas may risk health or lead to death.
► Do not inhale test gas.
► Observe risks and security statements related to the test gas (Refer to data
sheets and instructions figuring on calibration devices).
