Mechanical installation
WARNING
Risk of explosion!
In hazardous areas, electrostatic discharge may cause a spark to ignite on the
antenna.
► Do not install the antenna in hazardous areas subject to intense electrostatic
charging, for example, due to fast moving particles or pneumatic transport of
powders.
WARNING
Risk of explosion!
In potentially explosive dust areas, electrostatic discharge may cause a spark to
ignite on the housing and sensing head.
► Do not install the gas detector in dust explosion-hazard areas subject to
intensive electrostatic charging such as, for example, fast moving particles
or pneumatic transport of powders.

5.1
Installing the gas detector – installation
without mounting accessories
The gas detector is installed vertically on a level surface with the antenna
pointing upwards or downwards.
Attach the weather protection cap so that the arrow on the cap points upwards,
regardless of the orientation of the antenna (figure D).
Push the weather protection cap (figure A 7) onto the measuring cell (figure B 1)
with the arrow at an angle of 45 degrees to the left until it stops. Then turn it
clockwise until it clicks into place.
For installation with mounting accessories, see corresponding assembly
instructions.
Prerequisites:
–
A suitable installation location has been selected (see "Safety information",
section "Mechanical installation", page 43).
CAUTION
Risk of explosion!
The gas warning device has not been tested in environments with increased
oxygen content (> 21% O
).
2
► Do not use the gas warning device in such environments with increased
oxygen content.
Install the gas detector:
● Install the gas warning device using the drilling template (see appendix
"Drilling template") and hexagon socket head screws M 6 (1/4").
5.2
Installing the antenna
1. Remove the cover cap from the antenna connector (Fig. A 4).
2. Screw the antenna into the connector and tighten it by hand.
5.3
Installing the remote antenna
1. Remove the cover cap from the antenna connector (Fig. A 4).
2. Screw the antenna cable into the connector and tighten it by hand.
