Routine emptying and filling:
Regularly (depending on use) empty the spa of water and refi ll with water at ambient temperature (never use hot water as it could confuse the elec-
tronic system). Trying to economise by leaving the water for long periods is a mistake because the use
of chemical products will increase.
Long periods without use:
If the spa will be left unused for long periods of time, especially in places where temperatures may drop below zero, the spa should be prepared in
the following manner:
WARNING: Damage caused by humidity, condensation or any other problem which arises as a result of "hibernating" your spa is not covered by the
warranty.
If you decide to empty your spa of water, you are hereby informed that you must empty it completely in order to prevent bacteria from being left
behind. This includes any water which may remain in the pipes and in the pump area.
Filter access and cleaning:
If the fi lters are dirty, the heater will not function even when required by the thermostat. The digital panel will indicate an error when dirt accumulates
in the skimmer.
The fi ltration system starts as soon as the pump is connected and the water begins to circulate. At this point, the water passes through the fi lter
Vaciado y llenado rutinário: cartridge and the dirt and grit remain there. Filter maintenance is for guidance only. The user who best knows his/her
spa will apply their specifi c formula, taking into account that the most important factor is the frequency and number of persons who use the spa.
Do not over-tighten the fi lters!!!
One of the most common causes of the heater failing to work is because the skimmer basket is dirty. Ensure that this is not the case before
contacting the technical service centre, as this issue is not covered by the warranty.
Cleaning the fi lters avoids the possibility of serious damage to the pump, which is not covered by the warranty.
Water chemistry maintenance:
Defi nitions:
Water balance: Water balance is important for the correct general operation of your spa. The water conditions of each spa are unique, and depend
on its location, the water source and frequency of use. Unbalanced water can damage the spa, especially the heating element, make the water
unpleasant for the user, and reduce the effectiveness of the disinfectant. Damage caused to the apparatus by inadequate maintenance of water
chemistry is not covered by the warranty.
pH: pH is a scale which indicates whether the spa water is alkaline, neutral or acidic. The spa water should be slightly alkaline; 7.8 is ideal with the
ozone generator in operation. A pH of below 7.2 can corrode the spa apparatus, irritate users' skin and make the steriliser less effective.
Alkalinity: Total alkalinity is a measure of the alkalinity of the water. It acts as a pH buffer or a pH stabiliser, avoiding large swings in pH levels. Total
alkalinity should be between 80 and 150 ppm, ideally 120 ppm.
Advice on chemical safety: Always add chemicals to the water. Never add water to the chemicals.
Store chemicals in a cool dry place out of children's reach.
In the event that any chemical makes contact with your skin or is swallowed, follow the emergency advice on the product label.
Always follow the instructions and the dosage indicated by the manufacturer of the chemical products.
Always and exclusively use chemical products for spas.
DO NOT add chemicals while the spa is in use.
DO NOT mix chemicals.
DO NOT smoke in the vicinity of chemicals or expose them to a fl ame or heat source.
Maintain the chemical containers closed when not in use.
Initial maintenance:
Depending on the volume of water (litres) in your spa.
1. Add 60 ml "Minquest. Extra Strength Formula" stain and scale inhibitor for every 1,000 litres of water while fi lling the spa.
2. Once the spa has suffi cient water in circulation, place the fi lter in operation.
3. Add 30 ml "Extra Blue Clarifi er" spa cleaner for every 1,000 litres.
4. Perform a check of pH and alkalinity levels on the water using the test strips. Balance the pH to 7.2-7.6 and the total alkalinity to 80-150 ppm
(parts per million). Adjust the chlorine level to 1.5-2 ppm
5. Adjust the chlorine level to 1.5-2 ppm (Test kits are available from our distributor distributor)
Daily maintenance:
The spa must always remain connected!
1. Check and maintain ideal pH, alkalinity and chlorine levels using the test strips.
2. Operate the fi lter for at least two hours to eliminate particles in suspension.
3. Check the disinfectant daily.
Weekly maintenance:
1. Add 60 ml "Minquest. Extra Strength Formula" stain and scale inhibitor for every 1,000 litres while the water is circulating.
2. Add 30 ml Spa Cleaner for every 1,000 litres.
3. Check and maintain ideal pH, alkalinity and chlo rine levels using the test strips.
4. Ensure that the ozone generator (if applicable) is working.
Regular maintenance:
1. Scale and organic waste can build up in the fi lter.
Use "Cartridge Cleaner" once every two months to prolong the life of the fi lter.
2. If foam appears, add a few drops of "Foam Buster" to the spa.
3. When should the spa water be changed/ emptied? The formula is 0.1 x the number of litres, divided by the average number of daily
users. For example: 0.10*1.000 divided by 2 = 50 days.
In short, two or three times per year (depending on how often the spa is used). The same applies to the fi lters: the fi lters should be cleaned more or
less often or even changed depending on how often the spa is used (regular number of people, amount of body oils, sweat, etc.).
This information provided for water treatment and maintenance is for guidance only. The user who best knows his/her spa will apply their specifi c
formula, taking into account that the most important factor is the frequency and number of persons who use the spa.
Appropriate quantities for each chemical are:
BROMINE TABLETS: From 2.0 to 4.0 ppm.
GRANULATED CHLORINE: From 1.0 to 3.0 ppm.
ANTI-SCALE "Minquest Extra Strength Formula": Above 200 ppm.
