2 THE OPTIONS
2.1 Sandfilter
Fitted before the 20- and 5-micron filters, it allows a prime filtration, reducing consumption of the filter
cartridges. The sand filter is particularly interesting when the watermaker is operating in dirty seawater
(e.g., silt, suspended sand). The sand filter is equipped with valve(s) for the backwash, rinsing and filtration
operations. With a self-priming pump, it allows correct feeding of the sand filter and the unit, and if needed
a possible installation above the waterline
waterline).
A check valve needs to be installed at the sea water inlet hull fitting so the feeding circuit always stays
filled with water. This part is NOT supplied with the system, nor with the sand filter option.

2.2
Post treatment neutralite filter
The neutralite filter consists of a reaction chamber that's designed to hold the "Neutralite" which is a
"fossil coral-like algae debris" based substrate that releases calcium and magnesium.
It allows to re-mineralize the produced water in order to elevate the PH and to add hardness. This results
in a more balanced water for consumption.
2.3
Automatic flushing system
This option takes the water from the on-board fresh water network. The flushing cycle automatically
starts after a single button command, replacing the highly corrosive saltwater in the system by
freshwater. This improves the lifespan of the machine's components and reduces salt build-up on the
membranes and provides a 1-week storage for the membranes.
The water from the on board water network can not contain more than 0.4 mg/L of chlorine. This is the
maximum load that can be handeled by the active carbon filter that comes with this option.
2.4
Post treatment chlorine dosing
A dosing pump with its solution container and injection unit. This system allows to dose an additive
(chlorine) to prevent bacterial growth in the produced water tank.
2.5
Stainless steel strainer and an open-impeller feeding pump
This option is recommended for intensive operation of the R/O unit in more hazardous conditions. It
consists of a 3-way valve, the coarse sea strainer and the LP pump.
2.6
Stainless steel strainer and an self-priming feeding pump
A self-priming pump ensures correct feeding of the unit,
allowing an installation above the waterline. It can also
reduce feeding problems on boats where the thru-hull
often surpasses the waterline causing air intake.
2.7
Remote control panel
The remote-control-panel option allows to command all
basic functions from a more convenient location.
