Installation
1.4.1
Preparation
(See annexes A3-01 On board installation and A3-02 Installation kit)
The hull fittings and the hull valve are supplied and installed by the shipyard, (installation...).
The seawater feed hull fitting (Ø 1" minimum) should be placed as low as possible below the water line,
in an area always immersed whatever the boat's navigation rate may be.
The hull valve should be placed on the seawater feeding pipes, as close as possible to the hull fitting.
Avoid installing an elbow piece between the hull fitting and the hull valve. This makes it difficult to remove eventual
clogging objects.
The reject hull fitting should be placed above the water line and behind (or on the other side) of the feed
hull fitting.
It is recommended to connect the seawater suction line of the reverse osmosis unit to a dedicated line
without any function other than the supply of the R/O unit in order to avoid inadvertent dewatering
related to other equipment.
1.4.2
Installing the unit
All parts need to be installed respecting the following instructions:
The Watermaker:
or various "MODULAR" subsets
The main module (
Seawater intake:
The hull-fitting must correspond to the size of the hoses, as specified in the installation diagram.
The through-hull must be installed as deep as possible, towards the middle of the boat.
The sea strainer:
The sea strainer should be near to the hull valve and imperatively fully charged with seawater.
The Low-Pressure feed pump:
The low-pressure feed pump should be installed between the sea strainer and the 20µ and 5µ filters
following a rising feedline after the strainer to avoid air pockets. It also needs to be installed below
the waterline as low as possible (at least 20cm) to guarantee good priming of the pump. If this
instruction is not followed, we cannot guarantee optimal operation of the unit.
An auxiliary tank:
This tank (or a household bucket) is used to perform flushing, cleaning (See § 4.7) and preservation
(See § 3.3.3) of the system.
) should be bolted onto a rigid surface.
