Technical manual
13. As soon as the salinity is correct (<750ppm) Check that the production valve (V64) turns and that
the water is directed towards the tank (green light on the salinity monitor).
Note: The first two minutes of freshwater production is always rejected. The production valve (V61) will only switch
after two minutes AND with a salinity under the threshold.
3.2
Normal start-up
1.
Open the hull valve (V0) and the reject valve outside of the unit.
2.
Check the correct position of the intake valve (V01) and the cleaning valve (V50).
3.
Check that the strainer (F02) and the 20µ and 5µ filters (F30, F32) are not clogged.
4.
Start the unit by pressing the START button.
(If there is no brine rejection and seawater circulation, start again, bleeding the system. See the
preveous paragraphe 3.1 "First start-up").
Note: There is a 20 second delay before the HP pump (P40) starts
5.
Check the production flow does not exceed its limit and adjust the pressure if necessary with the
regulating valve (V49).
Note: If the feedwater parameters did not change since the last time the machine has produced, the pressure/flow
should be roughly identical without the need for reajusting the regulating valve (V49).
6.
After a 2 minutes, check that the
(<750ppm).
3.3
Shut down
When shutting down the machine, always consider the time the machine will be out of use.
It is recommended to flush the membranes after each use to extend the life of the membrane(s) and to
prevent corrosion of the metal parts by electrolysis.
3.3.1
Normal shut down
Stop the unit by pressing the "STOP" button.
Shut the hull valve (V0).
For every shut-down of more than 3 days, continue with the next chapter§3.3.2 and/or§3.3.3 to ensure
optimal condition of the membran(s).
3.3.2
Flushing the membrane(s) (manual)
1. Stop the unit by pressing the "STOP" button.
2. Completely open the pressure regulating valve (V49)
3. Fill the auxiliary reservoir with 10 litres of dechlorinated fresh water.
4. Immerse the cleaning hose (A8) in the auxiliary reservoir.
5. Position the 3-way intake valve (V01) to its maintenance position (from hose (A8))
6. Start up the unit by pressing on the "START" button* and keep a check on the water level in the
bucket.
7. As soon as the bucket is empty, stop the unit by pressing the STOP button.
8. Repeat the procedure (except if a 20 liters fresh-water recipient has been used)
9. Shut the hull valve (V0).
*If the auto-flush button is pushed while the option in not installed, this will not start the pump. It will light-up the
button and result in an ALARM (red warning light) "No pressure detected". Undo this action by pressing and
holding the STOP button for 5 seconds.
Note: With the auto-flush option installed, it is possible to execute this step automatically after a single command
by pressing the FLUSHING button. This is described in §3.3.2.
