Fitting the flywheel and operating handle (fig. 1 on page 3)
• The operating handle (fig. 6/pos. 6) and the flywheel (fig. 6/
pos. 7) can be removed for transport.
• To assemble components again move the carriage (pos. 5) as
near to the operator as possible.
• Remove the taper pin (pos. 30) from the flywheel shaft (pos.
31).
• Fit the shim (pos. 32) to the flywheel shaft (pos. 31).
• Insert the flywheel so that the operating handle fixing hole
(pos. x) is positioned above and to the left of the axis of the
taper pin hole.
• Check that flywheel and shaft holes are correctly aligned.
• Insert the taper pin (fig. 30) in the hole of the sleeve.
• Use a hammer to insert the taper pin fully.
• Tighten the screw (pos. 7a). Screw pin (pos. 35) complete with
nut (pos. 36) onto flywheel; tighten the nut (pos. 36).
• Insert handle (pos. 6) in pin (pos. 35) and tighten the screw
(pos. 37).
Using the appliance (fig. 2, 3 on pages 4-5)
• Turn the flywheel in order to move the carriage (fig.1/pos. 5)
to its forward limit (towards the operator).
• Move the product holder (pos. 4) away as far as it's possible
using either the knob (pos. 12) or the fast forward lever (pos.
11).
• Position the product to be sliced on the product holder (pos.
4) and hold in place with the pusher (pos. 3) (so that it can't
move), whilst adjusting the height.
• Failure to hold the product firmly in place on the product
holder could cause the appliance to cut uneven slices.
• Set the thickness of the slice desired by turning the knob
(pos. 13).
• Bring the product holder (pos. 4) (with the product) back from
its limit position (towards the blade) using either the knob
(pos. 12) or the fast forward lever (pos. 11).
• Draw the product holder (pos. 4) closer to the blade so as to
leave a space between the product to be sliced and the blade
of between 0,5-1,0 cm.
• Move the blade guard (pos. 9) to the left by loosening the knob
(pos. 9a).
WARNING! Exercise with great caution if the blade guard (pos.
9) is not fitted. The blade is extremely sharp.
• Hold the handle (pos. 6) and turn the flywheel (pos. 7) clock-
wise in order to begin blade rotation and the alternating
movement of the product holder (pos. 4).
WARNING! DO NOT turn the flywheel anticlockwise. Serious
damage to the slicer might be caused.
• You will need to turn the flywheel 4-5 times before the prod-
uct touches the blade. Whilst the carriage moves forward
(away from the operator), the blade enters the product. Guid-
ed by the deflector (fig. 1/pos. 2), the slice is detached and
drops onto the slice receiving surface.
• As the carriage returns (towards the operator), a mechanical
device is operated that moves the product holder sideways
towards the blade.
• The value of the transversal advancement is set with the slice
thickness adjustment knob (fig. 1/pos. 13).
• You should stop turning the flywheel once the operation is
complete; the blade will halt its movement.
• Move the product holder (pos. 4) (with the remaining product)
away from the blade using either the knob (pos. 12) or the fast
forward lever (pos. 11).
• Reposition the blade guard by tightening the knob (pos. 9a).
WARNING! DO NOT leave the slicer without the blade guard in
the correct position. Cutting hazard!
• Press the lever (pos. 10) and lift the pusher (pos. 3).
• Remove the product from the table (pos. 4).
Cleaning & maintenance
• Do not use water jet or steam cleaner for cleaning and do not
push the appliance under the water.
• If the appliance is not kept in a good state of cleanliness, this
can adversely affect the life of the appliance and result in a
dangerous situation.
• Food residues should be regularly cleaned and removed from
the appliance. If the appliance is not cleaned properly, it will
reduce its lifespan and may result in a dangerous condition
during use.
Cleaning (fig. 4 on page 6)
WARNING! Use protective cut-resistant and tear-resistant
gloves and perform all operations with extreme care.
• Remove the receiving tray (pos. 18).
• Unsrew knob (pos. 34) and lift the sliding product holder (pos.
4) complete with pusher arm (pos. 3).
• Clean all dismantled parts and the appliance body with just
hot water (at least 30°C) and a frothy, biodegradable dish-
washer detergent. Use a soft spongy cloth and, if necessary,
a nylon brush for the spiked areas of the product holder (pos.
4) and pusher (pos. 3).
• Rinse in hot water only and dry with soft spongy clothes.
• Reposition the product holder (pos. 4) on the carriage (pos. 5).
• Secure the product holder (pos. 4) to the carriage (pos. 5) by
tightening the knob (pos. 34).
• Press a damp cloth on the blade (pos. 16) and rub slowly mov-
ing from inside to outside.
WARNING! ALWAYS clean the knife with the blade guard (pos.
9) in the safety position.
• Damp a cloth in a solution of water and alcohol. Place the
cloth between the blade cover (pos. 14) and blade (pos. 16).
• Take two ends of the cloth between your hands and slide it
along the blade cover.
WARNING! DO NOT use any detergents to clean the blade.
• Remove the slice receiving surface (pos. 1) by loosening the
two screws (pos. 1a) and releasing from the retaining clips
(pos. 1b).
• Wash the tray with water and normal dishwasher detergent.
• For reasons of hygiene, the appliance should be cleaned be-
fore and after use.
• Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
• Never use aggressive cleaning agents, abrasive sponges, or
cleaning agents containing chlorine. Do not use steel wool,
metallic utensils, or any sharp or pointed objects for clean-
ing. Do not use petrol or solvents!
• No parts are dishwasher safe.
Maintenance
• Check the operation of the appliance regularly to prevent se-
rious accidents.
• If you see that the appliance is not working properly or that
there is a problem, stop using it, switch it off and contact the
supplier.
