SECTION 3

3 TRANSPORT, UNLOADING AND
COMMISSIONING

3.1 TRANSPORT AND UNLOADING

PONYBENCH BTPLUS should be loaded onto and
unloaded from the transport vehicle only by a fork lift
truck with adequate lifting capacity, consulting the weights
specifi ed in table TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS (page
16). For transport, the packing container must be secured
to the transport vehicle by means of appropriate restraining
systems.
PONYBENCH BTPLUS is appropriately packed by the
Manufacturer before being delivered to the forwarding
agent. The lift and control unit console are usually packed
in a wooden crate wrapped in a transparent sheet of heat-
shrink material.
Unloading using other means is certainly not advisable
because there are no suitable points on the lift for attaching
lifting equipment.
When handling, you are advised to:
Protect the control console against the weather and
handle it with care. When moving the control console,
before turning it over, remove the plug with the
breather hole from the tank and install, in its place,
the zinc-plated plug supplied with the bench - this plug
must be removed during the initial installation stage.
Protect sharp edges at the ends with suitable material
(Pluribol- Cardboard).
When loading onto the forks, take care not to damage
either the hydraulic parts or the appliance's structure.

3.2 UNPACKING

After removing packing, check that the appliance is in
perfect condition, looking for any visibly damaged parts. In
case of doubt, do not use the lift and contact professionally
qualifi ed personnel (your dealer).
Keep packing elements (plastic bags, polystyrene foam,
nails, screws, wood, etc) out of the reach of children, as
such objects are potentially hazardous. Dispose of these
materials in the appropriate collection points, as they are
not biodegradable.

3.3 INSTALLATION

Operations for the installation of PONYBENCH BTPLUS
are given below.
WARNING!
Before
check that all parts are in perfect condition
and that none are missing. Installation,
adjustment and fi nal-test of PONYBENCH
BTPLUS entail dangerous operations. These
operations must be carried out by qualifi ed,
responsible personnel operating who can
guarantee operation in compliance with the
safety regulations applicable in the fi elds of
mechanics, electrical technology, hydraulics
and pneumatics. Carefully read the instructions
in this manual: in case of doubt, contact the
Manufacturer directly. SPANESI S.p.A. declines
all responsibility for direct and/or indirect
damage caused by failure to observe such
instructions.

3.4 INSTALLATION AREA

The installation area for PONYBENCH BTPLUS must be
selected by thoroughly evaluating the following aspects:
The position must be safe, free of obstructions, and
protected from atmospheric agents. From the control
position, the operator must have a clear view of
the entire appliance and surrounding area, in order
to prevent unauthorised people from entering the
area and to be able notice any objects that could be
hazardous.
The area must be well lit.
The room must be suitable for housing the lift: there
must be no sources or work processes that can
produce infl ammable gases or vapours. The housing
of the lift's electrical system is in protection class IP
54 and is, therefore, unsuitable for operating in an
environment where infl ammable gases and vapours
or explosive mixtures can be produced.
The room temperature must be between 15° to 40°C.
The installation area must be fl at and level.
