f. The helmeT
2. Put the plastic tongue with the
round holes over the pin sewn
into the rear section of the cheek
pad and fix this into place using the
red-marked plug-in strip.
Warning:
The interior lining of the helmet is an important safety feature
and is crucial to the overall safety performance of the helmet.
Therefore, never make alterations to any part of the interior lining,
never remove any part of it, and never ride with a modified or
incomplete interior lining.
Warning:
When inserting the interior lining, make sure that the crown lining's
ventilation cut-outs are positioned over the ventilation channels
at the back of the helmet and that the crown lining runs centrally
between the two ventilation channels.
Warning:
Never use the helmet with the lining (or parts of it) removed! If the
lining is not installed before use, the helmet may not fit properly
and could come off in an accident, resulting in severe head injury
or death!
Warning:
Excessive heat (e.g. exhaust heat) can cause damage to the
interior lining!
Warning:
Pay attention to the label on the back of the liner for replacement!
Warning:
To avoid damage to the interior lining and inner shell, do not hang
the helmet over the mirrors or handlebar grip.

12. VENTILATION SYSTEMS
Ventilation device 1 – faceshield cityposition
The C3
has a faceshield that adjusts to several open positions so
®
you can open it for air during stops. For lower speeds (under 30
mph), you can utilize the 'city position' which is the first open position
of the faceshield from the closed position. (The faceshield is held
open more securely in this position than in the other open positions)
This will allow air to enter through the gap and flow over the inside of
the faceshield and out through the top vents.
Warning:
Riding without the faceshield or with an open faceshield can
result in injury to the eyes and face through stones, debris, dust,
insects and other flying objects. The sun visor, when lowered,
will provide a certain amount of protection from light impact from
stones or insects but cannot protect from all hazards.
Ventilation device 2 – inlet vent in
chin area (faceshield ventilation)
To ventilate the faceshield, the C3
provided with an inlet in the chin area.
Irrespective of riding posture, around
80-90% of the central airstream flows
directly into this inlet. A deflector
ensures that the air current ventilates
the faceshield effectively even at low
road speeds. You can open or close the
inlet by pushing the vent upwards or
downwards.
