f. The helmeT
Adjusting the chin-strap
You adjust the length of the chin-strap by increasing or
reducing the amount of strap pulled through the
metalbuckle. Adjust the length of the chin-strap
so that it fits firmly but comfortably
against your chin and fix the end of
the strap using the retaining loop
with comfort pad.
Caution:
When adjusting, make sure the helmet cannot be pulled off in a
forward direction with the chin-strap closed (see section G.3.).
Caution:
Regularly check the adjustment of the chin-strap length
(see section G.3.).
Opening and closing
To close the chinstrap fastener, slide the ratchet tongue step by step
into the locking buckle. If you find that the chinstrap fits too loosely
around your chin, slide the ratchet tongue one step further into the
locking buckle.
When adjusting the chinstrap, make sure that it rests firmly but not
uncomfortably around your chin. To open the chinstrap, pull the red
ribbon on the ratchet fastener upwards to open the locking buckle.
Then draw the ratchet tongue out of the locking buckle.
