4. CHECKING THE FACESHIELD AND SUN VISOR

Before every journey, check that the mechanisms of the faceshield
and sun visor are working properly and that the faceshield or sun
visor will provide sufficiently good visibility. Any dirt should be
removed before riding (for instructions on care, see Section I.3.).
Check the faceshield and sun visor for physical damage and cracks.
A heavily scratched visor will considerably impair your vision and
should be replaced before setting off on a journey.
Warning:
Never use tinted faceshield or sun visors in conditions of poor
visibility or when riding at night or in a tunnel.
Warning:
A scratched and/or dirty faceshield or sun visors will seriously
impair visibility. For your own safety, replace it or clean it
immediately.
Caution:
Make sure the faceshield is always in perfect condition. Don't
ride when visibility is poor. A damaged faceshield or sun visor
represents a safety hazard while riding and should be replaced.
Caution:
Stop riding when visibility is poor.

5. CHECKING THE REFLECTIVE AREAS

Before every journey, check that all the safety reflective areas are
clean.
Caution:
Please pay attention to the following as well as all other safety
instructions/advices that are included in this manual or attached
to the helmet and it's packaging.

1. SAFETY ADVICE CONCERNING THE HELMET

Warning:
Stop riding when visibility is poor.
Warning:
No helmet is as safe as riding safely!
Motorcycle riding has certain personal hazards. The risks that
are being taken by riding a motorcycle can be reduced but not
eliminated by wearing a helmet. There are numerous variations
in accidents; the protective capability of a helmet is difficult to
measure at the time of purchase. It is impossible to make definitive
statements on the actual protective effect of a helmet in the event
of an accident. A safe riding technique that is adjusted to the
particular road and weather conditions is essential for your safety.
Warning:
No helmet can protect the wearer against all foreseeable
impacts!
There are limits to the physical size and weight of the helmet a
person is willing to wear. The ability of a helmet to protect the
wearer is therefore limited. No helmet can protect the wearer
against all foreseeable impacts.
Warning:
Use only a helmet that fits snugly all around your head.
Fasten the chin-strap securely under your chin!
A helmet can provide protection only to the extent that your head
is covered with the helmet. The use of a properly fitted, securely
fastened helmet can lessen the risk of death or permanent
impairment due to head injury. For maximum head protection,
the helmet must be properly fitted and should provide adequate
peripheral vision. The retention system must be correctly adjusted
and securely fastened under the chin. Failure to have a proper
fit and to securely fasten the helmet is dangerous as the helmet
could come off in an accident resulting in severe head injury or
