Setting instructions

Winding and time setting:
The winding and time-setting crown (I) can be placed in two
positions A and B.
A: Pushed down against the case, winding position.
This is the normal position when the watch is being worn and
guarantees the best water-resistance. The watch must be wound
every day, if possible at roughly the same time.
Do not force the winding mechanism when you feel resistance
increasing.
B: Time setting position.
When pulled out to this position the winding and time-setting crown
(I) enables the time to be set. Turn the winding and time-setting
crown to set the hands to the required time. Then push the winding
and time-setting crown (I) back to position A.
It is preferable generally to set the time by advancing the hands.
However the hands can be moved backwards provided you end the
adjustment by advancing them. Above all, do not pass the time at
which the date changes (between 10pm and 1am) by turning the
hands in the anticlockwise direction (the date changes at around
midnight, however some mechanical components are in action
before and after this time).
NOTE: If the time is being set in the afternoon, the hour hand (1)
must have completed more than one full revolution since the last
day and date change (hand 7, apertures 8 and 9) to ensure that the
date changes at midnight.

Rapid adjustment of the perpetual calendar:
If your watch has been stopped for a few days only, it is easier to pull
out the winding and time-setting crown (I) to position B and advance
the hands by the time elapsed since the watch stopped. This method
conserves the synchronisation of the different displays.
Detailed adjustment of the perpetual calendar:
If the watch has been stopped for longer you will have to adjust all
indications one by one, firstly with indications corresponding to the
day before that on which you set the time.
IMPORTANT: Do not adjust the date by pressing the day, month or
date correctors (II, III and IV) between 7pm and 1am.
