Foreword
Dear customer,
Please read this documentation carefully before you start working with
the charger. It contains important information about how to safely and
correctly unpack, store, install, start up, operate and service your trak |
charger HF premium charger.
This operating manual is intended for personnel who are trained and
qualified to use the charger for charging batteries safely and correctly.
Please store this documentation in a place where it is immediately
accessible for all persons who have to carry out activities in conjunction
with the charger.

Explanation of symbols

The following symbols and signal words are used for safety information
in this operating manual in accordance with ISO 3864, ISO 7010 and
ANSI Z535.4:
DANGER

DANGER! identifies a hazard which is an immediate threat. If it is not
avoided, death or very serious injuries will result.
WARNING
!
WARNING! identifies a hazard which is a possible threat. If it is not
avoided, death or very serious injuries may result.
CAUTION
!
CAUTION! identifies a hazard which is a possible threat. If it is not
avoided, slight or minor injuries may result.
NOTE
NOTE indicates a situation which might be harmful. If it is not avoided,
the system or something in its vicinity might be damaged.
All safety information is structured as follows:

Correct use

trak | charger HF premium is a range of chargers with various power
outputs for charging rechargeable batteries (secondary batteries) for
electric industrial trucks. The devices are designed for the battery product
series offered by HOPPECKE Batterien GmbH & Co. KG, as well as those from
third-party manufacturers.
The following battery technologies can be charged using the trak | charger
HF premium:
Closed lead-acid batteries
Comparable batteries from other manufacturers can also be charged
using this charger once HOPPECKE Customer Service has configured it
with a charging process programmed for the battery type in question.
The chargers must only be stored and used in dry areas within the
specified temperature range.
The chargers must only be connected to and operated on earthed mains
sockets.
The chargers must only be connected to batteries with a compatible
voltage.
The chargers must only be used in commercial industrial supply net-
works.

Improper use

Failure to adhere to the operating manual may
lead to death or very serious injuries.
Read the operating manual, make sure you
understand it and follow the instructions
You must also follow the operating manual of
the batteries being charged
Adhere to the accident prevention rules and
the labelling of the battery charging system
according to DGUV
Improper use of the chargers and batteries may lead to operating
conditions which cause personal injuries and/or damage to property.
Use other than that described in section 2.2 is "improper use" and
therefore not permitted. Improper uses of the product include:
Use of the chargers in a damaged condition with a damaged mains
power cable or damaged plug. If the mains power cable has to be
changed, please contact HOPPECKE Customer Service.
Attempts to repair or disassemble the chargers carried out by the
user. Reliable and safe repair can only be guaranteed by HOPPECKE
Customer Service.
Operation in potentially explosive atmospheres or safety-related
applications, unless these applications are explicitly specified and
permitted in other valid product documentation.
Use as a load-bearing structural element.
Operation outside the scope of the technical data, including the
specified environmental conditions (see section 3 "Technical data"
in this operating manual).
