When the InSpectra
StO
™
measurement data is sent out both ports every two (2) seconds.
the format for the data stream is:
Date (YYYY-MM-DD) Time (hh:mm:ss) Valid Reading Flag
(1 = Valid)
% StO2
Example of data output: 2005-04-21, 9:46:01, 1, 78, 9.2
Explanation: This reading was taken on April 21, 2005 at 9:46:01; the reading was valid, with 78% StO
and THI of 9.2.
Data can be collected using a PC running a terminal program. When connecting to the monitor, use the
following settings:
• Baud Rate: 115200
• Data Bits: 8
Stored data collected during the last 96 hours can be retrieved from the monitor by sending the ASCII "xfer"
command, followed by a carriage return, from the PC. The monitor will stream all stored data in the format above.
The transfer data stream may be stopped by sending the "xfer 0" command.
Driver Installation
The proper FTDI Driver must be installed on the PC collecting data to use the USB port. The VCP driver can be
downloaded from:
The USB integrated circuit manufacturer's website: http://www.ftdichip.com/FTDrivers.htm.
NotE: You can download a royalty-free USB driver compatible with your operating system and the FT232BM
Integrated Circuit installed in the InSpectra StO
Verify proper operation before clinical use when connecting the InSpectra StO
Monitor to an external IT device.
cautIoN: Any external IT device connected to this monitor must be certified according to IEC
Standard 950.
• C ompliance with IEC Standard 60601-1-1 system requirements is required for all combinations of equipment
connected to this monitor.
• A ny person connecting peripheral equipment to the data output port is configuring a medical system and is
therefore responsible for compliance to system standard IEC Standard 60601-1-1 and the electromagnetic
compatibility system standard IEC Standard 60601-1-2.
O
WarNING: Possible Electrical Shock Hazard. Do not simultaneously touch a patient and an external
device, such as a computer, that is connected to the InSpectra StO
the USB port or the RS232 port.
