Note
◆
The Genuine Park Distance Control system should be fitted by an authorised workshop. Incorrect fitting may result
in damage to the vehicle or the Park Distance Control system.
◆
The Genuine Park Distance Control system is not suitable for fitting on vehicles which have subsequently been
lowered (sport suspension, etc.).
◆
The work to be performed on the vehicle, as described in these installation instructions, may vary in some
circumstances as a result of model improvement measures. As such, changes to the wiring colours or even the
fitting sites cannot be discounted. In view of this, please ensure that you always use the appropriate current circuit
diagram or the current vehicle workshop manual.

1.1 Painting the sensors
Page 1 - figure 1
Note
◆
The sensors only require painting in the car colour in the case of painted bumpers. If the bumpers are not painted,
the sensors do not require painting.
◆
The sensors must not be cleaned with silicone remover prior to painting. Use a mild alcohol such as methylated
spirits instead.
◆
The sensors can be painted in the packaging in which they are delivered as this is designed to be used as a painting jig.
◆
Additional general information concerning painting:
Self-study programme No. 214/215
The figure gives an example of the covering rings -1- already placed in the correct position on the sensors -4-.
Place the covering rings -2- on the rubber membrane of the sensors -3-.
Paint the sensors -3- and -4- evenly and not too thickly the same colour as the car.
Carefully remove the covering rings -1- and -2- using tweezers directly after painting, while the paint is still wet, and
let the paint dry.
Repaint as necessary after drying, e. g. clear varnish for twin coat painting.
Note
The covering rings -1- and -2- must be placed on the sensors -3- and -4- before any painting is carried out.
