Checking GAS working cycle
FUEL OIL valves must be closed.
· Open then close immediately the
fuel ball valve.
· Switch burner on.
· Select on the TC of the cabinet
manual operating mode for
S1J - S2K - S4 gas
· Close thermostatic circuit.
The leakage controller VPS 504 SO2 is
then switched on. After 30s, the amber
lamp comes on. Current is fed to the
control and safety unit, while the red
lamp of the unit lights on.
· Unlock and check the working of the
control and safety unit.
Program should unfold as follows :
complete opening of air flap,
pre ventilation for 30s,
return to ignition position,
ignition of electrodes for 6s,
opening of valves,
valves close no more than 3s after
their opening,
burner stops owing to insufficient
gas pressure ,or control and safety
unit gets locked because of flame
going out.
If unsure, repeat test as described
above.
Firing can only take place once this
very important test on the working cycle
has been completed.

Warning:
The unit may only be fired when
all the requirements listed in the
earlier sections have been
complied with , in particular the
choice of the priority fuel (fuel oil).
· Connect a micro ammeter (0 to 500
µA DC scale for polarization) instead
of the measuring bridge located in
the TC and in the connecting
terminal on the burner.
· Close FUEL OIL valve.
· Open fuel GAS ball valve.
· Close thermostatic circuit.
The leakage controller is switched on.
Following the 30s test, the unit is
switched on.
· Unlock the control and safety unit.
Burner is in operation.
· Check:
– combustion as soon as flame
appears.
– any possible leaks in the gas train
No leakage should be detected.
· Read the cell current value (between
200 and 500 µ A).
· Measure the gas flow at metre.
· Increase power to rated flow by
pressing S3 + switch at sporadic
intervals.
· Check combustion.
In order to reach the required effective
output, comply with the smoke
temperature recommended by the
boiler manufacturer.
Depending on the combustion tests,
while burner is working at rated output,
actuate screw V of valve MB VEF or
screw R of SKP regulator.
In order to increase the CO2 level
· Increase the ratio and vice versa.
· Read the cell current value
(between 200 to 500 µA).
· Measure gas flow on the metre.
· Increase or decrease power by
increasing or reducing the value
read on the graduated cylinder of
cam I.
· Stop and restart burner.
· Check combustion as soon as flame
appears.
Depending on measured values, while
burner is working, actuate screw N on
valve MB VEF or screw D on SKP
regulator.
· If required, adjust the value of cam
III for ignition and of cam VI for the
mini. regulation. The adjustment
process is similar to the adjustment
of cam I.
· Increase power to rated flow and
check combustion.
If the value has changed following
the move on screw N (screw D for
the SKP) : alter ratio V (screw R for
the SKP) in the required direction.

Do not reset dimension Y, if
FUEL OIL has been adjusted,
otherwise:
· Optimize combustion results by
adjusting :
– dimension Y secondary air
according to the procedure
described in the section entitled :
"adjusting combustion and
secondary air implements";
· Increase dimension Y1 : the CO2
level increases and vice versa. Any
change in dimension Y may require
adjusting the air flow.
· Check combustion.
Verify the operation during firing, and
when power is being increased or
decreased.
· While burner is working and using a
foam product designed for that
purpose, check for any possible
leaks in the connections of the gas
train.
No leakage should be detected.
· Check the safety devices.
