it to the non-working position.
14) Release the wheel by removing the spinner and the fixing cone.
15) Move the horizontal carriage to get the wheel out of the way of the spindle; then remove it from the tyre changer.

11.3 TYRES WITH INNER TUBE

To work on tyres with inner tubes, you will require optional accessories: UB - bead levering tool; LA - bead-lifter lever; and LG - bead
guide lever.
NB: After the bead breaking phase, the bead levering tool can replace the bead breaking roller on the right side of the wheel; it is
clamped using the bar as shown in Figure R1.
BEAD BREAKING AND DEMOUNTING
1) After clamping the wheel as described in paragraph 11.1, remove the inside valve to deflate the tyre completely and remove old balancing
weights, if any.
2) If you have removed the bead breaking roller, replace it in its seating on the hori-
zontal carriage, to the right of the wheel, moving the carriage to create the necessary
working space.
3) Move the horizontal and vertical carriages so that the outside bead breaker roller
is level (about 5 mm) with the outside edge of the rim (Fig. R).
4) Move the horizontal carriage towards the inside while turning the spindle in either
direction until the bead comes completely out of its seating, towards the inside of
R
the rim.
NB: The greater the adherence of the tyre to the rim, the slower must be the move-
ment of the bead breaking roller into the tyre.
WARNING: Movement of the bead breaker roller must be stopped as soon as the
bead comes out of its seating, to avoid damaging the valve and the inner tube.
If bead breaking using the roller supplied is found to be difficult or ineffective, it is
advisable to use the optional accessory BBD "Bead Breaking Disk", designed for wheels
with bead wires; this tool is ideal for all types of wheels with complicated beads.
5) Replace the bead breaker roller with the bead levering tool and clamp it using the
bar; see Figure R1.
6) Start turning the spindle and move the carriage at the same time so that the bead
R1
levering tool penetrates between the wheel and the rim until the bead is hooked.
Stop turning.
7) Raise the wheel 4-5 cm, or just enough to ensure that the tool is holding the
bead properly.
8) Move the horizontal carriage to drag the bead just hooked outside the rim.
Stop movement as soon as the red reference mark on the tip of the tool is close to
the edge of the rim.
9) Insert the bead lifter lever LA between rim and bead to the right of the tool.
10) Keep the lever pressed on the wheel as you lower the vertical carriage until the
rim is about 5 mm from the bead levering tool (see Figure R2).
