TRAFIK/N
3 INSTALLATION AND ASSEMBLY
WARNING The barrier must be used exclusively for vehicle passage. Prohibit pedestrian passage in the automation maneuvering area.
Provide an appropriately marked pedestrian walkway if necessary.
WARNING To ensure greater safety, DEA System recommends that all installation operations be carried out by two people. By doing so,
potentially dangerous situations can be avoided by allowing operation even in unfavorable conditions (e.g. in strong wind, sloping ground,
etc...). Please note that accidentally dropping the boom during installation can cause serious damage to the barrier mechanics.
WARNING Before carrying out any installation operation of the barrier, it is advisable to remove both doors and the metal cover (Fig. 3).
In addition to improving the brightness inside the box, it will allow the installer to operate from different angles, simplifying the assembly
and adjustment phases.
3.1 For a satisfactory installation of the product it is important to:
• Defi ne the complete design of the automatic opening;
• Carefully consider the characteristics of the area, terrain, and type of service required before installing the barrier;
• Defi ne the position of the automatism and the necessary accessories;
• Check that the size of the automatism is compatible with the area chosen for assembly and that the space required for the movement
of the boom is suffi cient (Fig. 2);
3.2 Once the aforementioned preliminary requirements have been defi ned and satisfi ed, proceed
with the assembly:
WARNING TRAFIK/N barriers are always supplied ambivalent, i.e., it is possible to mount the omega and consequently the boom on the
"right" side (this means that when opening the front door of the box, the boom will be on the left side of the box and the opening direction
will be clockwise) or on the "left side."
WARNING It is advisable to install TRAFIK/N on a concrete foundation with at least 500 mm sides and 400 mm depth.
WARNING When working on the spring, to remove or balance it, there is the danger of shearing the hands between the moving parts. Pay
close attention! Carry out these operations with the spring unloaded (barrier open).
TRAFIK/N can be fi xed to the ground in 2 ways:
By dowels
• Ensure that the site is prepared for the installation of the barrier and that there are an adequate number of conduits for the passage
of electrical cables;
• Make sure that the support surface is perfectly level;
• Use the base of the box or the dimensions indicated in Fig. 4 as a reference to drill holes in the fl ooring, then use suitable bolts
(expansion or chemical) to fi x the barrier to the ground;
• Before tightening the dowels, mount the 2 reinforcing brackets provided (Fig. 5) so as to have an optimal fi xing of the structure.
By foundation base (Art. TRAFIK/B) (Fig. 5)
• Prepare an excavation suitable for the soil type;
• Prepare an adequate number of channels for the passage of electrical cables;
• Place the foundation base about 20mm from the fl oor;
• Cement the excavation, check the position of the base with a level and wait for the cement to set, making sure the surface is perfectly
level;
• Fasten the barrier to the foundation base by locking it with M12 nuts (not supplied), taking care to use the 2 reinforcing brackets
provided (Fig. 5) so that the structure is optimally secured.
3.3 Manual movement of the boom (Fig. 6)
All TRAFIK/N barriers are equipped with a knob placed under the motor.
Clockwise/counterclockwise rotation of this knob allows manual movement of the boom in opening and closing.
WARNING Rotation of the knob is only possible with the boom and balance spring properly fi tted or without the boom and with the
balance spring unloaded.
