OBD2 diagnostics
Diagnostics are initiated by selecting the 'Scan' option on the tester's main screen. By default, engine diag-
nostics will be run, but if transmission (gearbox) diagnostics is enabled, a selection menu will appear where
"Engine" means engine diagnostics and "A/T" means transmission diagnostics.
The diagnostic menu allows:
- DTC reading;
- reset of all DTC codes;
- data stream – reading and displaying all data for the supported sensors;
- display of freeze frame data;
- i/M reading – checking the operation of the emission system on OBD2-compliant vehicles. Some vehicles
can support an I/M reading check of two types. A. Since the DTC was reset. B. This drive cycle – shows the
status of the sensors of the current drive cycle. I/M readings can be as follows: "OK" – diagnostics completed;
"INC" – diagnostics not completed; "N/A" – no support.
- vehicle information: VIN – Vehicle Identifi cation Number, Calibration ID – fi le calibration ID, CVN – Calibration
Verifi cation Numbers – a checksum of the fi le calibration which allows you to verify if the computer has been
programmed outside the authorised service centre of the vehicle manufacturer.
DEVICE MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
Clean the tester housing with a slightly damp cloth (water) and wipe it dry. Never immerse the tester in water
or other liquids.
Store the tester separately so that it is not exposed to impacts, e.g. from other tools in the toolbox. The storage
area should be shaded and well-ventilated. It should also protect against unauthorised access, especially by
children.
