The unit can be turned on at a specified time every day by the built-
in timer.
You can also set a time for recording
from any source.
The timer-on period is factory-set
to 60 minutes. This period can be
changed when you set the timer.
Preparation
Make sure the clock is set correctly (see page 14).
While pressing the SHIFT button, press the TIMER
button on the remote control to select the timer
mode.
Each time it is pressed,

in the display turns on and off.
'TIMER"
is displayed
for 4 seconds.
Go to step 2 within these
4 seconds.
If "TIMER" in the display goes out, press the TIM E R
button while pressing
the SHIFT button again.

If you go to step 2 after"TIMER" inthe display goes out, another
operation may start.
Press the II SET button to enter the timer setting
mode.
The "hour" in the display flashes.
Press the ,e4 DOWN or _-_,.UP button to designate
the hour of the timer-on time.
4 Press the II SET button to set the hour.

The "hour" stops flashing and the "minute" starts flashing in the
display.
Press the .,I.< DOWN or _-_,-UP button to designate
the minute of the timer-on time.
6 Press the II SET button to set the minute.
The "minute" stops flashing in the display.
7 Press one of the function buttons to select a
source.
8 Get ready for the source.
To listen to CD playing
Load a disc on the disc tray.
To listen to tape playback
Insert a tape into the deck.
To listen to a radio broadcast
Tune in to a station.
To listen to the connected source
Set an external timer to turn the connected source on and off.

When recording the source
Insert the tape to be recordedon intodeck 1.
