chain slack. While adjusting the chain, keep the
center of the front and rear sprockets in a
straight line. To help you with this adjustment
process, each chain tensioner is engraved with
reference marks. Please check and make sure
that the reference marks on both sides of the
chain tensioner are at the same level of scale
marks (note: You can also use a ruler or rope to
check whether the wheel alignment is accurate).
After checking the wheel alignment and adjust-
ing the chain slack to 28-35mm, re-fix the rear
axle nut and tighten it by a torque of 70-105N.m.
Perform the final inspection.
Warning
Incorrect wheel alignment can cause abnormal
wear and may result in the motorcycle being ridden
in a dangerous condition.
Notice
When replacing the chain with a new one, inspect
both sprockets for wear, and replace them if nec-
essary.
During routine inspection, inspect the chain for:
• Loose pins
• Damaged roller
• Dry and rusty links
• Kinked or seized links
• Excessive damage
• Loose chain
If the above problems occur on the chain, the
sprocket is likely to be damaged. Inspect the
sprocket for:
• Excessively worn gear teeth
• Broken or damaged gear teeth
• Loose sprocket fixing nuts
Cleaning and lubrication of drive chain
Use a dry cloth and special cleaning agent for
motorcycle chain to clean the chain. Clean the dirt
on the chain with a soft brush. After cleaning, wipe
dry and fully lubricate the chain with special lubri-
cant for the chain.
Rear brake
The motorcycle is equipped with a dual-channel ABS
disc braking system. Correct brake operation is very
important for safe riding. Remember to ask a qualified
service center to inspect the braking system regularly.
