AHT Cooling Systems GmbH
Avoid draughts and major thermal irradiation at
the
installation
cabinets in front of heating devices and heaters
or under air vents.
Do not direct point source emitters into the
cabinet. Avoid lighting with filament bulbs
wherever possible. Fluorescent tube lighting
gives off less heat.
Each time heat enters the storage cabinet,
operating costs rise and the efficiency of the
cabinet may be affected. Ensure that the glass
cover is positioned correctly. The inscription
must be clearly legible when viewed from above.
Condensed water may form on covers fitted
incorrectly.
When installing cabinets with a condensate
outlet (optional), ensure that this outlet in the
cabinet's base trough is always accessible and
that there is enough room to change over the
water collection tray.
WARNING: Do not position the cabinet in
direct sunlight. The cabinet must not be
heated to more than 70°C (158°F).

Electrical connection
WARNING:
If the mains cable or light
becomes damaged it has to be replaced by AHT or
AHT customer service.
The cabinet is a compact unit supplied with
plugs.
The mains cable (white) is 175 cm long.
Cabinets with an interior light have a 120 cm
long light cable (black). Both cables are on the
rear right of the cabinet.
Provide 16 A fuses (inert) (see technical data on
rating plate).
The supply cable must have a minimum cross-
section of 2.5 mm
5-pin cables must not be used.
If possible, avoid using extension cables or
power strips. If this is unavoidable, make sure
that the cables you use have a minimum cross-
section of 2.5 mm
Only connect cabinets to protective contact sockets with
an earthing contact and their own mains power circuit.
You should never connect more than 2 cabinets to any
one power circuit.

AHT recommends using a cable channel located on the
floor with sockets either embedded into it or on top of it.
The cable channel used must be no higher than the
distance between the floor and the lower edge of the rear
ventilation grid of the chest. Any other fixtures or
superstructures (e.g. shelves with longitudinal supports
above) that obstruct the dissipation of air must be
avoided. Should fittings between the cabinets be
necessary anyway, written approval must be obtained
from AHT for the relevant design.
Only connect cabinets with a sensor connection on the
back to a safety extra low voltage connection (SELV).
WARNING: The mains voltage and frequency must
match the nominal values given on the cabinet's
type plate.
Work on the electrical systems may only be
undertaken by a qualified electrician. The relevant
local safety regulations must be observed.

Internal lighting
Lighting is already incorporated into the cabinets with
AHT cabinets with an internal light An additional light
socket must be available for each chest. No more than
8 internal cabinet lights can be connected to one
electrical circuit.
This information must be taken as a suggestion. The
electrical supply company regulations and VDE
regulations for the relevant region must be noted and
observed. Electrical work must only be carried out by
ex
qualified professional.
When using light fixtures these may sometimes be
connected to each other using the sockets that are
already integrated. In this case you will normally only
need 1 – 2 additional sockets for the lighting.
With the LAK model no more than 12 light fittings must
be connected in series, with the LAL model no more
than 18 light fittings and with the LA-A model no more
than 8 light fittings With the TKL model a supply line
and socket for each TKL are provided. No more than 8
light fittings may be connected to 1 fuse. No other
consumer loads may be connected to these sockets.
WARNING: You must ensure that no AHT cabinets
are connected to the lighting circuit.
The connection cable for the lighting is marked with a
sticker and is either black or grey (depending on the
country). It is very sensible to mark the light sockets
clearly to prevent them being confused with the cabinet
connector plug (light grey cable). Otherwise there is the
risk that the cabinets will be switched off when the
supermarket lighting is switched off.
