Clamping the wheels
(Version 2-Speed 24)
Caution! Make sure all four clamping jaws are mounted
identically (1 or 2, Fig. 13). Otherwise the rim may
come
loose
and
Very Important: look for proper insertion of the pin
• Depress pedal (1, Fig. 10a) smoothly as far as the
centre position. If the pedal is released, the
clamping jaws remain in the position they reached.
Rim diameters are shown in inches on the turntable
(A, Fig. 13). The diameter setting (mark on jaw (B)
must coincide with mark on turntable) depends on the
clamping jaw position 1, or 2.
• In jaws position 1 the diameter is preset directly
(1, Fig. 13). In position 2 (2, Fig. 13) 4" have to be
added.
• Position the wheel and press it down on the
turntable manually.
• Depress pedal past the end of stroke position and
release it. The wheel is clamped.
4.3 Fitting special clamping jaws
Special clamping jaws are simply positioned on the
clamping jaws already present and snapped into
place.
To install any accessory on request follow the
instructions enclosed with it.
4.4 Inner clamping of rims with a diameter of be-
tween:
12 and 22" (for Basic version)
12 and 24" (for Version 2-Speed 24)
• Fully depress the pedal (1, Fig. 10a) then take your
foot off the pedal. The clamping jaws move inwards.
• Position rim and the wheel.
• Depress the pedal past the lower end of stroke point
then release it. The wheel is clamped.
• Depress the pedal. The wheel is unclamped. To
avoid damaging the surface finish of alloy rims, they
should be only be clamped from the outside.
Special plastic caps are available as optional extras
for the clamping jaws so that alloy rims can be clamped
carefully.
