Beading the tires
Beading Tubeless: tires
Perform the beading with the wheel blocked on the tire
changer.
•
Ensure that both the beads and the inside of the rim
are thoroughly lubricated.
•
Screw the valve insert.
•
Connect the compressed air hose to the valve (1,Fig.
23).
•
Operate the AIR BLAST to ensure the beads are
seated.
STOP THE COMPRESSED AIR AS SOON AS THE
BEADS GRIP THE RIM WELL.
•
Place the wheel in a type approved cage to finish
inflating and completely settle the beads in their
seats on the rim.
Beading tubeless tires is sometimes difficult because
the beads may be very close together (e.g. owing to
incorrect stacking) and so fail to seal against the rim
properly. In this event it may be helpful to place the
wheel on the floor in a vertical position and 'bounce' it
while introducing air with the pedal control or with the
nozzle (Fig. 24).
Beading with the nozzle device:
The machine can be provided with a GT device,
necessary for bead seating of tubeless tires.
•
Connect the compressed air hose to the valve (1,Fig.
23).
•
Position the GT device beading nozzle between tire
and rim, pointing the air jet inside the tire (2,Fig.
23).
•
Press the inflation pedal (1, Fig. 25) and the button
(3, Fig. 25) on the Nozzle. The injectors (4, Fig. 25)
eject a large volume of air and the tyre beads
properly seal the rim flanges allowing the subsequent
inflation.
STOP THE COMPRESSED AIR AS SOON AS THE
BEADS GRIP THE RIM WELL.
•
Place the wheel in a type approved cage to finish
inflating and completely settle the beads in their seats
on the rim.
