1.3 General safety rules
Only properly trained and authorized personnel shall
be allowed to operate the tyre changer.
Unauthorized changes and modifications to the
machine relieve JOHN BEAN from any liability for
damages and injuries that might result therefrom and
cancel the EC Declaration given
The machine must not be used except for the scope
of application and in the way specified in this manual.
When fitting tyres on rims, make sure they fit properly
in size (identical nominal diameter); this means for
example no tyres of nominal size in mm on rims of
nominal size in inches and vice versa.
Always observe the applicable national guidelines when
demounting, mounting or inflating tyres.
If troubles occur during operation of the machine,
disconnect the machine from all energy supplies prior
to remedy of the trouble.
In general any work on the electrical system such as
fitting of a plug or changing of connections, if
necessary, must be carried out by a qualified
electrician in line with relevant national standards and
the regulations of the local power station.
In general, it should be noted that working with
technical equipment may involve unforeseen residual
risks. Therefore, various self-explanatory warning
labels (yellow/black triangle) are fitted on the tyre
changer.
These warning labels warn the operator against residual
risks, calling for his special attention so as to prevent
any injuries, accidents or damage.
In general the operator should eliminate these risks
in advance by proper and wise behaviour.
In this, the following special points should be
observed:
• Always use suitable and proper equipment and
tools.
• Wear suitable protective clothing and use suitable
protection (e.g. safety goggles, ear plugs, safety boots
etc.).
• Strictly follow the instructions, notes and technical
data of the machine manufacturer or manufacturer of
the product to be handled.
For further safety rules to be observed, please refer to
the individual chapters.
