Chevrolet Corvette 1984-1989

1. Remove the (7) Phillips screws from the plastic trim panel around the
factory radio. (Figure A)
2. Move the gear shifter to the lowest position (L1) and carefully pull the right
edge of the trim panel forward. Unhook the left side and remove the panel.
Set aside.
3. Remove the Phillips screws holding the factory radio, remove the radio unit
itself and disconnect wiring from the rear of the unit.
4. Remove the original brackets that mount the factory radio to dash.

Note: Keep the old brackets for mounting the new radio.

Chevrolet El Camino/Monte Carlo
1. Remove the (4) Phillips screws from the plastic trim panel around the
factory radio. (Figure A)
2. Remove the panel, disconnect the cigarette lighter wiring and set aside.
3. Remove the Phillips screws holding the factory radio, remove the radio unit
itself and disconnect wiring from the rear of the unit.
4. Locate the Metra Bracket Set #2. Then, using wire cutters, cut and remove all
mounting tabs on the Bracket Set EXCEPT the tabs marked on the back with a
letter "C". (Figure B)
