Pontiac Grand Am 1985-1991

1. Unsnap the console panel around the gear shifter.
2. Now unsnap, remove and set aside the plastic trim panel from around the
factory radio. (Figure A)
3. Then remove the Phillips screws holding the factory radio, remove the radio unit
itself and disconnect wiring from the rear of the unit.
4. Remove the original brackets that mount the factory radio to dash.
(Figure B)
Note: Keep the old brackets for mounting the new radio.

Pontiac Grand Am 1992-1995

1. Remove the (6) Hex-head screws
from the driver's side padded knee
panel and let the panel drop down.
2. Remove the (4) Phillips screws from
the glove box/cup holder assembly.
3. Remove the (1) 7mm Hex-head
screw from the left corner of the
plastic trim panel around the factory
radio. (Figure A)
4. Then (2) 10mm nuts holding the
(Figure A)

top of the factory radio, remove
the radio unit itself and disconnect
wiring from the rear of the unit.
5. Remove the original brackets that
mount the factory radio to dash.
(Figure B)
Note: Keep the old brackets for
mounting the new radio.
