Bonneville 1982-1986
1. Remove the (3) Phillips screws
from the top edge of the trim panel
around the factory radio. (Figure A)
2. Remove the (4) Phillips screws from
the metal steering column trim and
remove the trim.
3. Remove the (4) Phillips screws
exposed at the bottom edge of the
radio trim panel.
4. Remove the cigarette lighter,
retainer ring and finally, the trim
panel itself. Set aside.

5. Then remove the Phillips screws
holding the factory radio, remove
the radio unit itself and disconnect
wiring from the rear of the unit.
6. Remove the original brackets that
mount the factory radio to dash.

Note: Keep the old brackets for
mounting the new radio.

1. Remove the (1) 9/32" Hex-head
screw from the computer diagnostic
plug, then twist to reveal the (1)
9/32" screw on the trim panel.
Remove this screw.
2. Remove the (3) 9/32" screws from
the bottom edge of the trim panel
and remove the panel.
3. Open the glove box and then remove
the (4) 9/32" screws from the trim
panel around the factory radio.
Remove the radio trim panel and set
aside. (Figure A)

4. Remove the (2) Phillips screws
holding the factory radio, remove
the radio unit itself and disconnect
wiring from the rear of the unit.
5. Locate the Metra Bracket Set
#6. Then, using wire cutter, cut
and remove all mounting tabs on
the Bracket Set EXCEPT the tabs
marked on the back with a letter
"B." (Figure B)
