FUEL FILTER CARTRIDGE REPLACEMENT
Follow the procedure below:
IMPORTANT
Turn off the engine and remove the
ignition key. Wait at least 6 minutes
before disconnecting the negative
battery cable.
1 - Carry out the operation with the engine
cold.
2 - Prepare a container under the filter to
collect any leak (fig.2).
3 - Disassemble the water presence
sensor (A fig.2).
4 - Using a suitable commercial wrench,
disassemble the cartridge and replace it
(B fig.2).
5 - Lubricate the seal of the new cartridge
with fuel according to the specifications on
page 13 before installing it.
6 - Fit the new cartridge (B fig.2)
7 - Fit the water presence sensor (A fig.2).
8 - Bleed air from the fuel supply circuit
(see Air Bleeding From Fuel Supply Circuit
on page 52).
9 - Start the engine and keep it at idle
speed for the time necessary to check for
possible fuel leaks.
CAUTION - WARNING
Avoid contact with hot engine parts
and fuel. Wear appropriate gloves and
clothing.
CAUTION - WARNING
In case of fuel leaks, stop the
engine immediately and contact
the manufacturer of the vehicle in
which the engine is installed or a
workshop authorised by VM MOTORI
STELLANTIS EUROPE.
