ENGINE GENERAL DESCRIPTION
GB
The R754ISE5 engine has been designed and built to be installed on vehicles for off-road
applications, approved according to the EURO VI anti-pollution directives.
MAIN COMPONENTS OF ENGINE R754ISE5
1) Thermostatic valve: adjusts the coolant
temperature according to the engine
operating temperature.
2) EGR: Exhaust gas recirculation valve.
The valve allows part of the engine
exhaust gases to pass from the exhaust
manifold to the intake manifold to help
reduce NOx (nitrogen oxide) pollutants
from combustion.
3) Injector: injects pressurised fuel into the
combustion chamber.
4) Alternating current generator: produces
and regulates the electric system voltage.
5) Rail: stores pressurised fuel and
distributes it to the injectors.
6) Starter: used to start the engine.
7) Oil filter: retains impurities.
8) Cooler: cools the engine oil by heat
exchange with the coolant fluid.
9) High pressure injection pump: feeds the
rail with fuel under pressure.
10) Automatic accessory belt tensioner:
keeps the accessory belt constantly
tightened.
11) Accessory belt: operates the service
parts.
12) Water pump: feeds the cooling circuit.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
13) Oil/air vapour separator: separates
and circulates part of the oil contained in
the oil/air vapour back into the engine.
14) Cooler: cools the exhaust gases by
heat exchange with the coolant fluid.
15) TVA: Air flow control valve. The valve
regulates the flow of air drawn in by the
engine, particularly when the EGR valve is
operating.
16) Suction manifold: conveys the
combustion air into the combustion
chamber.
17) Turbocharger: it consists of a turbine
which uses part of the exhaust gas energy
to carry out the engine turbocharging.
18) Oil sump: contains the engine
lubrication oil.
19) Exhaust manifold: used to expel the
combustion gases.
20) Air filter: filters the air drawn in by the
engine.
21) Preheating glow plugs: facilitate
engine combustion and engine cold
starting and with low ambient temperature.
