4.5 Outlet pipe (see Annex 4)
Connect the outlet pipe of the lifting station to the system. We recommend using a flexible coupling to reduce vibrations.
The type of fitting for connecting the pumpBOX to the system is indicated in Table:
caution
The connection between the discharge pipe and the system must be made in a workmanlike manner so as to ensure no
leakage even when subjected to the pressure exerted by the pump and the water column.
4.6 Shut-off valve
A shut-off valve must be fitted to the inlet pipe to make the system safe during maintenance operations. It is recommended that a shut-off valve is
also installed on the outlet pipe.
Gate valves or ball valves can be used.
4.7 Vent system
The vent system serves to prevent the formation of explosive or toxic mixtures inside the tank.
It also serves to prevent overpressure due to liquid entry and the vacuum generated during emptying.
The vent connection is equipped as standard with an internal check valve which prevents liquid from escaping even if
the level rises abnormally.
Close the vent connection with the active carbon filter.
An alternative to the filter, you can connect a Ø1½" hose (40mm). (see Annex 5)
Do not use smaller diameter pipes to avoid system noise and ensure proper operation.
The other end of the vent pipe must terminate in an open atmosphere at a suitable height and with a flame breaker filter,
if any.
Make sure that the vent pipe does not leak.
caution
However, use of the vent pipe must be evaluated on the basis of the installation.
Any local regulations may require the use of a different diameter vent pipe.
4.8 Maximum level alarm float
The maximum level alarm float signals if the liquid inside the tank reaches an excessively high level due to a pump fault
or excessive inflow.
It must be connected to an electrical control panel set up with an audible and/or visual alarm.
4.9 Level sensor 4-20 mA
A level sensor with standard outlet of 4÷20 mA is used to start and stop the pump.
The level sensor must be connected to a pre-arranged electrical control panel.
It is recommended that an electrical control panel equipped with a backup battery is used in order to ensure proper
operation of the level sensor even in the event of a temporary power failure.
