7. MAINTENANCE
7.1 Ordinary maintenance
The pumpBOX lifting station has been carefully designed and built with high-quality materials to ensure high reliability.
However, periodic cleaning and maintenance are recommended in order to ensure that performance remains consistent over time.
Any work should be carried out by qualified personnel (for example, from the installer's Service Department) in accordance with applicable regu-
lations.
After maintenance work is completed, always carry out an operation test.
7.2 Type of interventions and frequency
Periodic checks of the systemmust ascertain the correct hydraulic and electrical functioning.
To ensure efficient operation of the system, carry out a verification every:
• every six months for installation in multi-family houses.
• annually for installation in single-family houses.
• Disconnect the pump from the electrical control panel and make sure it cannot start-up accidentally. To disconnect the three-phase
EN
pump, first disconnect the phase conductors then the yellow-green ground conductor.
• Close the inlet and outlet pipe gates.
• Biological tanks may contain poisonous gases: FACILITATE air circulation before starting work.
• Do not immerse your hands or body parts in the liquid contained in the tank.
• Do not touch the metal parts of the lifting station without disconnecting the power supply.
• To avoid burns, wait until the pump surface, if previously used, has cooled.
• If in doubt, consult the manufacturer before proceeding with any repair or replacement operations.
7.4 Hydraulic maintenance
7.4.1 Tank and system
Visually checkthe general condition of the tank and check that:
• there is no sign of any cracks, crushing and deformation.
• it is fixed to the floor using screws.
• the system has no leaks and the joints between the pipes are tight.
• the weight of the pipes does not bear on the lifting station.
Remove any deposits at the bottom of the tank and check:
• that the discharge, outlet and vent pipes are clear.
• the check valves are free of obstructions and are operating correctly.
• the air vent pipe for pump priming is clear.
7.4.2 Pump
1. Disconnect the pump from the electrical control panel and make sure that it cannot be started up accidentally.
2. Remove the pump from the tank and wash the contaminated part with running water and detergent.
3. Check that the impeller rotates freely and is in good condition. Remove any residue.
For pumpBOX GR models: check the grinding system and remove fibres and solids if necessary.
We recommend replacing the O-ring between the pump and the tank every time the pump is subject to maintenance operations.
caution
DO NOT use the power cable to lift the pump. Always use the top handle.
7.4.3 Vent valve (see Annex 6)
1. Disconnect the pump from the electrical control panel and make sure that it cannot be started up accidentally.
2. Remove the active carbon filter or vent pipe from the vent connection.
3. Unscrew the locking ring nut of the level sensor and pull it out to access the inside of the tank.
4. Unscrew the locking ring nut of the vent valve and remove it from the tank.
5. Remove any residue on the valve and check that the float ball can move properly in the seat.
6. Replace the vent valve in its seat and lock it with the ring nut.
7. Replace the level sensor in its housing and lock it with the ring nut.
8. Refit the active carbon filter or vent pipe to the fitting.
7.5 Electrical maintenance
7.5.1 Motor
Check that the pump's absorption is as indicted on the nameplate.
7.5.2 Cable
Checkthat the power cable is in good condition, has no worn or damaged parts and does not become stretched or pinched during operation.
7.5.3 Level sensor (see Annex 7)
1. Disconnect the pump from the electrical control panel and make sure that it cannot be started up accidentally.
2. Unscrew the locking ring nut of the level sensor.
3. Carefully pull the level sensor out of the tank without grabbing it by the cable.
4. Remove any residue on the sensor and inside the still pipe using running water.
5. Replace the level sensor in its housing and lock it with the ring nut.
