7. TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM
1. When the ignition key is turned
to «ON» the control panel remains
switched off without any warning sound.
2. When the ignition key is turned
to «ON» the control panel remains
switched off, but continuous warning
sound is activated.
3. With the ignition key on «START» the
control panel light is on, but the starter
motor does not run.
4. With the ignition key on «START» the
starter motor runs but the engine does
not start.
5. Starting is difficult or the engine runs
erratically
6. The machine does not start:
7. Weak engine performance during
cutting
8. The engine switches off when the cut-
ting means is engaged.
9. The "Cruise Control" device does not
engage (activate)
10. The "Cruise Control" device does
not disengage (deactivate):
- by pressing the mushroom control (4.9)
- by operating the forward drive pedal
(4.22)
- by using the brake pedal (4.23)
11. The battery light will not go off after
running for a few minutes work
PROBABLE CAUSE
The safety device of the electronic circuit
board has cut in due to:
– badly connected battery
– battery terminals crossed
– completely flat battery or eroded battery
plates
– blown fuse
– bad earthing to the engine or the frame
The safety device of the electronic circuit
board has cut in due to:
– wet circuit board
– battery voltage too high
– problems with the electronic circuit board
– insufficiently charged battery
– badly earthed
– starting conditions have not been met (

– faulty fuel supply
– faulty ignition
- oil level low
– carburation problems
– transmission not in neutral (N) with "Cruise
Control" not disconnected from the previ-
ous use.

SOLUTION
Turn the ignition key to «OFF» position and look for the cause
of the problem:
– check connections ( 3.1)
– check connections ( 3.1)
– recharge the battery ( 6.2.3)
– replace the fuse (10 A) ( 6.4.9)
– check connections of black earth wire.
Turn the ignition key to «OFF» position and look for the cause
of the problem:
– dry using luke warm air
– Check battery voltage.
– check connections ( 3.1)
– replace the battery
– contact your dealer
– recharge the battery ( 6.2.3)
– check earth connections
– disengage the cutting means; (check the
relative micro switch if the inconvenience persists)
– put the drive into neutral (N)
– sit firmly on the seat
– recharge the battery ( 6.2.3)
– check the level in the tank (
– Check the wiring of the fuel opening solenoid.
– Check the fuel filter ( 6.4.4)
– check that spark plug cap is securely fitted (
– check that the electrodes are clean and have the correct
gap between them
( 6.4.5)
– Check the engine oil level and top up if necessary (
– clean or replace the air filter(
– flush out the float chamber (
– empty the fuel tank and
refill with fresh fuel( 5.4.13)
– check and replace the fuel filter if necessary
( 6.4.4)
- Turn the ignition key to «OFF»
– Disconnect the cruise control device. (
Make sure the neutral transmission indicator (N) (4.13.j) lights
up on the display.
If the problem persists, please contact your dealer.
– reduce the forward speed and/or raise the height of the
cutting-means assembly.
– seat firmly on the seat (if the problem persists, check the
relevant microswitch)
– check that the grass catcher or the discharge guard are fitted
correctly (if the situation persists, check the relative micro-
switch)
- Press the reverse gear cutting consent button ( 4.7)
- Turn the ignition key to «OFF»
– Contact your dealer.
