15. Dipstick Mode
Dipstick Mode allows you to perform ATF injec-
tion and recovery operations directly from the
automatic transmission's oil level dipstick.
The Dipstick function can be accessed directly
from the main menu.
The following modes are available:
Manual
n
Automatic
n
Do not confuse the automatic
transmission dipstick with the en-
gine oil dipstick! Not all vehicles
equipped with automatic transmis-
sions also have the A/T level con-
trol rod.
This mode is very convenient for level checking
and topping up operations or where you want
to service the transmission without necessarily
having to access the rear part.
To use this feature make sure of the following:
The ATX 280 is disconnected from the ve-
n
hicle
The vehicle is equipped with automatic
n
transmission oil level control dipstick
Connect the Dipstick adapter to service line
n
1 (the only one with the Dipstick icon
The station ATX 280 is supplied with two Dip-
stick adapters Ø 6 mm and Ø 10 mm, please
select the most suitable diameter for your needs.
Once the A/T dipstick is located, check the
n
lubricant level in the transmission
Then remove the dipstick and instead in-
n
sert the Dipstick adapter with the appropri-
ate diameter
Proceed with leveling operation (injecting or
n
removing lubricant until the correct level is
reached)
Note: Refer to your vehicle manufacturer's ser-
vice and user manual for proper level readings.
