If necessary, only the amount of oil necessary to
restore the minimum - maximum level specified
by the manufacturer should be added to the ve-
hicle's A/T system.
12.2
Automatic thermostatic
transmissions
Some vehicles are equipped with automatic
transmissions with thermostatic valves.
In this case, flushing will not proceed properly
until the ATF fluid inside the transmission has
reached the correct temperature.
Generally, the fluid inside the transmission should
be brought to about 40°C, but it is recommend-
ed that you read the vehicle's service manual
to find the correct service temperature.
It generally takes a few minutes to reach the de-
sired temperature. You can turn on the vehicle,
select the N (neutral) gear and wait.
MAHLE recommends that the vehicle not be left
unattended during this procedure.
The station ATX 280 has the possibility to au-
tomatically start the flushing cycle once the set
temperature has been reached. If this tempera-
ture is not reached, the station remains in recir-
culation mode.
