Danger
Risk of injury
Do not perform inspections, checks or servicing/
adjustment work when the engine is running or hot.
Operating times
Comply with the national/municipal regula-
tions concerning the times when the device
may be used (if required, contact your local
authority).
Fill up with fuel and check the oil level
Note
The engine has already been filled with oil in
the factory – please check the oil and refill,
if required.
■
Refill with 'lead-free petrol' (Fig. 21).
■
Fill the fuel tank up to max. 2 cm below the lower
edge of the inlet nozzle.
■
Seal the fuel tank tightly.
■
Check the oil level (Fig. 21). The oil level must be
between the 'Full/Max.' and 'Add/Min.' mark (also
see engine manual).
Check tyre pressure
Note
For reasons of manufacture, the tyre pres-
sure may be higher than required.
■
Check the tyre pressure. If required, correct (see
the section entitled 'Servicing'):
- front: 0.8 bar
- rear:
0.7 bar
Adjusting the driver's seat
■
Move the seat to the desired position.
Depending on the design:
■
Undo the screws, adjust the seat and retighten the
screws (Fig. 1).
or
■
Pull the seat adjusting lever, adjust the seat and
release the seat adjusting lever again (Fig. 20).
Adjusting the cutter deck wheels
(depending on model and design)
Fig. 4c
The cutter deck wheels should never be lower than
6-12 mm above the ground at the lowest cutter
position. The cutter deck wheels are not designed
to bear the loads generated by the cutters and may
have to be offset accordingly. They are used solely
for compensating for floor unevenness.
Always move the cutter deck wheels so they line up
evenly.
16
Note
The number of cutter deck wheels varies
depending on the model.
Starting the engine
■
Sit on the driver's seat.
■
Switch the cutter deck off: Switch off PTO (Fig. 12)
and raise the cutter deck.
■
Depress the brake pedal/clutch pedal (Fig. 9) all
the way and hold or engage the parking brake
(Fig. 13/14).
■
Move direction of travel lever (Fig.10 / 15) to "N".
Note
Devices with accelerator pedal (devices with
hydrostatic drive) are in the 'N' position unless
the accelerator pedal is actuated (Fig. 16).
■
Move the throttle to
■
To cold-start the engine, pull the choke or move
the accelerator lever to
■
Turn the ignition key (Fig. 6) to
is running (attempt to start the engine for max.
5 seconds, wait 10 seconds before attempting to
start the engine again). When the engine is run-
ning, set the ignition key to
■
Slowly push the choke back (Fig. 7).
■
Return the accelerator lever (Fig. 8) slowly until
the engine runs smoothly.
Stopping the engine
■
Move the throttle (Fig. 8) to the middle position.
■
Let the engine run for approx. 20 seconds.
■
Turn the ignition key (Fig. 6) to
■
Remove the ignition key.
■
Always engage the parking brake before getting
off the device.
Driving
Danger
Abrupt starting, sudden stopping, and driving
at an excessively high speed elevate the risk
of accident and may damage the device. Be
particularly careful when reversing. Never
adjust the driver's seat while driving.
Attention
Damage to the device
Never change the direction of travel without
first bringing the device to a standstill.
Driving with hydrostatic drive
■
Start the engine as indicated.
■
Release the parking brake.
■
Slowly actuate drive lever or accelerator (de-
pending on model) until the required speed is
reached.
