4. Fit the ball bearings in the correct position on both
ends of the shaft and press into the mounting holes.
5. Fit retaining rings on both ends of the shaft.
This completes fitting of the guard.

If the ball bearings and retaining rings are a long way
apart, the gap can be reduced by means of the fitted
washers 16 x 10 x 0.5 mm included in the scope of
delivery. This will reduce the play of the guard.

1. Open the guard as far as it will go.
2. Fit each of the two studs of the retaining
plate (Fig. 36, item 1) with a plastic washer
15 x 5 x 0.5 mm (Fig. 36, item 2).
3. On the left side, slide in the retaining plate through
the holes (Fig. 36, item 3) in the guard.
4. Fit two plastic washers 15 x 5 x 0.5 mm (Fig. 36,
item 2) on the studs from inside.
5. Bend the left leg spring downwards with one finger
and insert the leg spring (Fig. 36, item 4) in the
correct position through the opening in the spring
holder (Fig. 36, item 5).
6. Fit the spring holder with the leg spring in the cor-
rect position on the studs.
7. Fit the spring lock washers A5 (Fig. 36, item 6) on the
studs and use the nuts M5 (Fig. 36, item 7) to secure
the spring holder and retaining plate at the guard.
8. Carry out the same procedure on the right side of
the guard.
9. Close the guard.

This completes fitting of the guard.
6.4
Removing transportation safeguard
After setting up the EPS 205 on the workbench, the trans-
portation safeguard for the drive unit has to be removed.

The EPS 205 must always be switched off and the
mains connector unplugged at the three-phase AC
network before opening the unit.
