1. Unscrew the bolts (8x) securing the left housing
cover (Fig. 37, item 6).
2. Detach the housing cover (Fig. 37, item 5).
3. Remove the hexagon nuts (2x) of the transportation
safeguard (Fig. 37, item 1).
4. Remove the bolts (2x) of the transportation safe-
guard (Fig. 37, item 4).
5. Remove the transportation safeguards (2x) (Fig. 37,
item 2 and 3).
6. Re-fit and secure the housing cover.
i
Keep the transportation safeguard and bolts for fur-
ther use. The EPS 205 is only to be transported with
the transportation safeguard fitted.
6.5
Electrical connection
!
The EPS 205 is only to be connected with a three-
phase AC connector to a grounded symmetrical
three-phase AC network (200 V). The EPS 205 must
be provided with 16 A fuse protection. Heed the
information on the rating plate on the back of the
EPS 205. The three-phase AC network must be pro-
tected by an automatic circuit breaker.
1. Have the country-specific three-phase AC connec-
tor fitted to the three-phase AC connecting cable by
a qualified electrician (Fig. 2, Pos. 1; see electrical
terminal diagram). We recommend using the follow-
ing connector for example: NEMA L15-20P, 3P, 4W,
20 A, 250 V 3-phase.
2. Plug in the EPS 205 at the three-phase AC network.

Connection of compressed air/exter-
nal extractor
1. Set the compressed air on the service unit to be-
tween 0.5 MPa and 0.8 MPa.
2. Connect the compressed air supply on the back of
the device (Fig. 2, item 2).
3. If use is being made of an external extractor, this is
to be connected to the outlet (Fig. 1, item 4).
i
We recommend connecting an oil mist extraction
and filtering unit to the EPS 205.
6.7
Filling with test oil
!
If it is poured in too quickly, the test oil may run out
at the turned-up flushing drain or at the connection
for external extraction.
1. Connect flushing outlet (1 680 712 293; fig. 3,
item 6) and face upward.
2. Pour test oil (ISO 4113) very slowly and carefully
into the jet chamber (Fig. 3, item. 4). The capacity of
the test oil tank is approx. 6.5 liters.
3. Pour in test oil until it is above the mark on the oil
level indicator (Fig. 1, item. 8).
The EPS 205 is ready for operation.
i
After testing DHK/UI or CRI/CRIN, CRI Piezo for the
first time, the level on the oil level indicator drops
as the test oil is distributed in the hydraulic pipes
of the EPS 205. Check the oil level after first testing
and top up if necessary. If the level is exactly on the
mark of the oil level indicator, a maximum of 1.5 li-
ters of test oil can be added. The oil level should
always be above the mark but remain within the
inspection port.

EPS 205Software installation and
language selection
6.8.1
Install Windows 7
1. Switch on the EPS 205 with the main switch.
EPS 205starts, and the installation of Windows 7
also starts.
i
During installation of Windows 7, you will be asked
to create a username and a password. The username
must be entered. The password is not necessary
to operate EPS 205. To enter the username, either
connect a keyboard to a USB or the PS2 port on the
EPS 205 (see sec. 3.6.5) or open the virtual key-
board.
