3 Transport and interim storage
Immediately after receiving the product:
• Check the product for damage in transit
• If damage is found, the necessary procedure
involving the forwarding agent must be taken
within the specified period.

Incorrect transport and interim storage can
cause damage to the product.
• The switchgear is to be protected against mois-
ture and mechanical damage.
• It must not be exposed to temperatures outside
the range –20 °C to +60 °C.

6 Description and function
6.1 Product description (Fig. 1)
The EC-Drain LS1 is an electronic switchgear with
an integrated microcontroller.
It controls a pump depending on the switching
status of the connected float switch. When the

Correct use of the pump/installation also includes
following these instructions.
Any use over and beyond these is considered to be
incorrect use.

An optional rechargeable battery (accessory)
allows for a mains-independent alarm signal,
which signalises the missing mains voltage by
means of a continuous acoustic signal.
Pump faults are registered and evaluated.
The display of the operating states is signalised by
LEDs on the front side. Operation is done via but-
tons on the right side on the housing.
The switchgear is delivered for single-phase cur-
rent (1~230 V) with a shock-proof plug and an
integrated operating capacitor, or for three-phase
current (3~400 V) with a CEE plug with phase
inverter.
