(15) Replacing the gas spring

DANGER :
Be sure carry out the work while observing the following in order to protect against pinching of
hands, fingers and arms between the sewing machine and the bottom cover, which can result in
serious injury, when you raise or return the sewing machine from or back to its home position.
1. Be sure to hold the rib on the bed periphery when holding the sewing machine.
2. Be sure to lock the hinge stopper to firmly secure the sewing machine in its raised position.
WARNING :
Turn OFF the power before starting the work so as to prevent accidents caused by abrupt start of
the sewing machine.

1) Loosen and remove stopper screw 1 .

2) Hold wth your both hands perphery rbs 2

3) Further, support perphery rbs 2 of the machne

located on the front sde of machne bed, slowly
lft the sewng machne, and stop t at the lock
poston of the ntermedate secton.
Do not hold feed base 3 and feed guide
shaft fixing base 4 .
bed wth your left hand, hold grp 5 of the hnge
stopper secton wth your rght hand, release the
lock, and slowly lft the sewng machne. When
the sewng machne starts lftng, set free the
hnge stopper secton held wth your rght hand
and support the perphery rbs wth your both
hands.
