Elastic (for narrow elastic band)
For swimsuits or leotards, attach elastic in the following
manner°

Method
O Wrong side
O Right side
Straight stitch
Disengage upper knife (refer to page 18).
Place 1/4" (0.6 cm) wide elastic on top of the wrong
side of fabric and even with the raw edge.
Serge elastic side along the edge, stretching the elastic in
front of the needle while guiding both edges along the
guideline of the needle plate.
Fold elastic to the wrong side of fabric and, with a
conventional
sewing machine, straight stitch on the right
side of fabric through the elastic.
Be sure to stretch elastic while sewing the straight stitch..
Engage upper knife when finished serging.
