OPERATING MANUAL
When the battery level charge is low, transfer the vehicle to the charging point.
WARNING
– The machine is equipped with an electric brake, which realises with the traction. If it is necessary to
transfer the vehicle without batteries, the electric brake must be released using the handwheel in the rear drive motor.
By screwing the handwheel the brake is released and the vehicle will be in neutral. Remember to restore the initial
conditions with the electric brake blocked, keeping the same handwheel unscrewed, so that the vehicle is always
braked and not in neutral.
10 PREPARING TO WORK IN AUTOMATIC MODE (AUTO)
Prepare the vehicle for operation (Read chapter "PREPARING THE VEHICLE");
1.
Turn a quarter clockwise the main switch key to position "ON";
2.
WARNING
–When the vehicle is switched on, the operating system is loaded regardless of the mode of use (MAN /
AUTO) selected. If the selected operating mode is AUTO, the switch blinks slowly until the end of the operating system
loading (~ 10 sec). Once the initialization is completed with the complete loading of the operating system, the calibration
phase of the steering handle (point 4.) starts automatically.
If operating mode is set in MAN in the next 10 seconds after the vehicle has been switched on, the MAN / AUTO switch
will not blink, but the operating system will be loaded anyway and with the selection of the AUTO operating mode, the
switch light would turn on, and the calibration phase of the steering handle would start automatically (point 4.).
WARNING
– If there is an error loading the operating system, the warning symbol blinks.
3.
During the calibration phase the operator is required to move away from the machine to allow the steering handle to be
calibrated, which moves from right to left and then returns to the center once the phase is over. Once the calibration has been
completed successfully, the "MAN / AUTO" switch LED will stay on with a green LED. This is the signal to proceed with the
recognition phase of the operator (point 5.);
WARNING
–If the operator is too close to the vehicle, the warning symbol lights up with a fixed LED to indicate to the
operator or whatsoever obstacles must be moved away from the steering handle. As soon as the operator, or any
obstacle too close to the vehicle, is sufficiently far, the calibration would resume from where it was interrupted.
The calibration phase is only needed once, when the vehicle is switched on in automatic mode (AUTO).
4. The operator is asked to stay in front of the laser sensor (Table VEHICLE COMPONENTS) with his leg slightly open wide.
Press and release the operator recognition switch (Table VEHICLE COMPONENTS), this starts to blink quickly, until the
phase ends with the operator recognition and the switch stays on with a fixed LED light. The active automatic mode is
identified by the "MAN / AUTO" and the operator recognition switches switched on with a fixed LED light;
WARNING
–If there was an error, the warning symbol will flash.
If the operator is not detected within 30 seconds, the operator recognition switch stops blinking and returns to the
previous condition, in which the switch should be pressed again in order to proceed with the recognition of the operator.
WARNING
–In automatic driving mode (AUTO), the vehicle's forward speed is standard, so it can not be adjusted
through the potentiometer in the console.
WARNING
– The automatic driving mode (AUTO) can be interrupted at any time by moving ahead or backward the
steering handle (Table VEHICLE COMPONENTS). In this way the vehicle is automatically set to manual mode. The
operator recognition switch switches off and the MAN / AUTO switch stays on with a steady LED light on AUTO. The
vehicle can therefore be moved manually through the steering handle (even if the MAN / AUTO switch continues to be on
AUTO and the relative LED is on).
In the event of a standstill due to the presence of too many obstacles or insufficient maneuvering space, the red alarm
LED will light up in the console, and the vehicle emits a warning sound. It will therefore be necessary to proceed with the
manual mode (MAN) to advance.
To return to the automatic driving mode (AUTO), the operator will then need to stay in front of the laser sensor and re-
press the operator recognition switch.
WARNING
– The automatic driving mode (AUTO) is also interrupted when:
 the operator is lost (for example, if the operator walks too fast), in this case the vehicle stops and emits a warning
sound;
 the manual switch is activated (MAN);
 the recognition switch is pressed for a second time, if already activeted;
 an error occurs (for example an obstacle blocks the steering or in case of an excessive inclination of the vehicle).
