► Install the Boa dials using the Boa tool.
INFORMATION: Make sure that the Boa dials are parallel to the socket shell.
INFORMATION: If necessary, the Boa dials can be tightened again by a quarter turn.

7.3.5 Installing the axle

23
Complete the following steps to install the axle:
1) Insert the connecting lugs of the lateral side rail into the medial side rail.
2) With a hammer, tap the axle into the bore in the medial and lateral side rails.
3) Use a cotter pin drive to tap the axle all the way in (see fig. 23).
INFORMATION: The axle is thicker at the end in the form of a knurling. This knurling
must only be tapped into the bore as the final step. This side is also marked with a
face end bore so the required removal direction can be determined if the axle has to
be removed later.
4) Tap the axle in until the end of the axle only just disappears into the bore.
If the axle has to be removed, the knurled end has to be pushed out of the bore first. To use the
medial side rail and axle again, the axle has to be installed into the medial side rail from the other
side the second time.

7.3.6 Screwing together the side rails and socket shells

24
Complete the following steps to install the side rails:
1) Slide the two side rails simultaneously into the side rail guides on the socket shell to the stop.
INFORMATION: The side rails have to be inserted up to the stop.
2) The medial side rail has to extend at least 2 cm into the pocket of the medial side rail guide.
3) Screw the side rails to the side rail guide on the socket shell with slot nuts, clamping pieces
and countersunk head screws (M4x8).
